Something I never did in my younger years was backpack around Europe. It just never appealed to me. Watching BBC's 'Race Across The World', I'm beginning to wonder if perhaps I missed out. Greece especially looks incredible (for this kind of travel), and there always seems to be a bus or a train to take you to even the remotest destinations. But I guess what you don't see on the telly is having to wait for the next bus, which leaves in 8 hours, or the desperate search for the last available bed in a small town.
