.@re_tweet asked me this over 3 yrs ago why I turned off my rigs. B/c when the hash rate was 200 exa and the block reward was 6.25 it was unprofitable @ $.06/kwh @ $30k/btc
Hash rate rn is 900 exa, reward is half, price is only double, and energy is more expensive.

@CryptoCloaks Why are you mining still? I guarantee even if you're using the heat you're ending up with less bitcoin than if you just puchased spot.

Bitcoin has won. Global consensus is that $BTC is digital capital. The four-year cycle is dead. Price is now driven by capital flows. Bank and digital credit will determine Bitcoin’s growth trajectory. The biggest risk is bad ideas driving iatrogenic protocol changes.

Money was literally invented to not have to know your customer.
It was created to eliminate the layer of trust needed between the exchange of goods.
KYC is antithetical to money.

Occasionally I’ll get a notification that someone liked this old post and it reminds me of how fun bitcoin twitter was during that time.
I feel like I don’t see a lot of newbies around wanting to learn this stuff anymore. Am I just out of the loop? Or are we just not fun anymore?
