We must address this issue urgently, Martin. With Govt help. Not a week goes by nowadays without my own elderly (and trusting) mother receiving contact of one kind or another from scammers. When visiting, I play along to assess criminal methods and determination before confronting them but, has to be said, they're increasingly plausible tricksters. And, I'm told discreetly by bank managers, often successful. Govt can do more. #corruption

Hi Andy @bushontheradio, I am so sorry to hear your parents were scammed after trusting a fake ad using my picture. It is utterly disgraceful, and thank you for speaking out about it. Please send them my best wishes. I wish I could say this was unique or different, but sadly it's not, its become commonplace. Social media advertising is a complete Wild West, where criminals can exploit people with alarming ease. Very little has changed since I sued Facebook in 2019, and successive governments have failed to treat this as the public safety crisis it clearly is. Even though we successfully campaigned to get the law change, those laws have not been implemented. These scams do not just rob people of money - they shatter confidence, dignity and mental wellbeing. It is a national disgrace that so many are still being left exposed. Keep shouting about it, please!

Actually, you might be able to help me with this one? Sadly, never did hear from this little #Jewish fella again... His 'advice' to me (made here, pre-2018) was that all my trolls on Twitter/@X were #Jewish - think he used term "#Jews" - and that I should be 'flattered'..! After spending much of this month in the Gulf covering the war from Saudi and Qatar I’m not optimistic as to a quick way out of this mess. A ‘deal’ would involve either US or Iran making big concessions. #Iran has both geography and time on its side. A ground war cd be v messy.

I just called the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, to express my great sorrow over this morning's unfortunate incident in the Old City of Jerusalem, in which Cardinal Pizzaballa and the Custos of the Holy Land, the Most Reverend Fr. Francesco Ielpo, were prevented from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for prayers amid the ongoing security situation. I clarified that the incident stemmed from security concerns due to the continuous threat of missile attacks from the Iranian terror regime against the civilian population in Israel, following previous incidents in which Iranian missiles fell in the area of the Old City of Jerusalem in recent days. I reaffirmed the State of Israel's unwavering commitment to freedom of religion for all faiths and to upholding the status quo at the holy sites of Jerusalem.

However, given the holiness of the week leading up to Easter for the world’s Christians, Israel’s security arms are putting together a plan to enable church leaders to worship at the holy site in the coming days.
