📕 On the Anniversary of Karl Marx’s death we remember a man whose contribution to the advancement of human thought is unparalleled. 📚 Not only was Marx the author of the great treatises of economic science like Das Kapital, numerous collaborations with Friedrich Engels, and works of newspaper journalism and ethnography; he was also the author of world-changing programmatic works like the Manifesto of the Communist Party. 🚩 The Party Manifesto gave us the modern form of proletarian Communist organisation. Marx was a Party Communist, building the Communist League in 1847, which laid the groundwork for the Leninist Communist Party that later lifted billions out of poverty and misery across the world. ✍🏽 In the words of eternal Marx: “It is not the consciousness of men that determines their existence, but their social existence that determines their consciousness. At a certain stage of development, the material productive forces of society come into conflict with the existing relations of production or – this merely expresses the same thing in legal terms – with the property relations within the framework of which they have operated hitherto. From forms of development of the productive forces these relations turn into their fetters. Then begins an era of social revolution. The changes in the economic foundation lead sooner or later to the transformation of the whole immense superstructure.”
