At best, inequality serves as an indicator of potential problems. At worst, obsessing about it distorts our priorities from what truly matters, such as the living standards of the least well-off. Inequality can sometimes be a reflection of some social ills. But it can be a reflection of social progress too, and some purported cures for it are much worse than the disease.

Foreign intelligence interference in Hungary’s parliamentary election continues in an unusually aggressive and open manner. Certain foreign intelligence services, with the involvement of a Hungarian journalist, have wiretapped and are publishing phone conversations, once again today. The latest “revelation” presents four major “new findings”: 1. Hungary stands firmly for peace and fully supports all peace efforts. 2. We stand up in the strongest possible terms for Hungarians in Transcarpathia, whose rights have been continuously taken away by the Ukrainian state over the past ten years. 3. We are fighting for access to cheap Russian oil and gas, because without them utility costs in Hungary would triple. 4. We consider Brussels’ policy on the war extremely dangerous as it risks dragging Europe into the conflict. Bravo for this “huge revelation.”

This is true. My 17 year old son is in a Restore WhatsApp group with his schoolmates. There were 4 of them in it in January, it now has 48 in it. My 2 daughters AND their husbands have joined Restore. My daughters both teach, husbands work as physicist, and a civil engineer. This is far reaching and a very broad church.
