At least 13 US service members have already died in Iran—including Captain Seth Koval, a husband and dad from Indiana. I pressed Trump administration officials to justify this war. When the lives of our brave service members are at risk, the American people deserve answers.

I join Hoosiers across the state in mourning the loss of Capt. Seth R. Koval, an American hero who served our nation with honor. My prayers are with his family, community and all who served beside him. We will never forget his sacrifice and bravery to our country.

President Trump is dragging us into another endless war without congressional approval. I voted against this war because Americans should not have to suffer higher costs or decisions that puts lives at risk.

None of these isms and phobias have a place in our society.

I’m proud to host my annual Youth Opportunities Fair to provide students the opportunity to enter the workforce. Investing in young people allows for stronger communities, a stronger workforce, and a bright future for Indianapolis.

My annual Youth Opportunities Fair with @IvyTechCC was a success! We helped close to 200 young people find jobs, internships, and other opportunities ahead of the summer months.

It appears no one was seriously injured at a shooting at a Michigan synagogue, but the fear and trauma caused by violence is real and damaging—not just for those present, but for loved ones and the entire community.    I'm monitoring this incident and the potential threat to Jewish communities across the country. Antisemitism, hate crimes, and political violence are on the rise in the U.S., and it must end.

Gas prices have skyrocketed in the last week because of Trump’s war against Iran. It’s already disrupted the global oil supply – and if this war continues, it will impact the cost of nearly all goods.   No more endless foreign wars.

The United States should not be dragged into another senseless war without the consent of the American people.   That’s why I’m a cosponsor of the Iran War Powers Resolution and will vote YES today. The American people deserve debate and transparency before sending our troops into harm’s way.

Muslim leaders are present in every aspect of public service, often working behind the scenes to shape policy and improve lives.  Every year, I co-host a Congressional Iftar with my sisters @Ilhan, @RepRashida, and @RepLSimon to honor these public servants.
