Just caught up with a former colleague, and he told me that Hyperliquid was being used on the desk to figure out where pricing was an dictated how they traded the open. $65b hedge fund…but they don’t own Hyperliquid

You broke little fucks sitting in your 40sqm studio apartment munching on your Costco chicken bake being like “yeah 5m in llp was an easy risk free decision, would have done the same, mate”
jmo@cuntycakes123

If you put 5m dollars to bootstrap liquidity in a brand new perps exchange with no users that ends up being the market leader within a few years you probably deserve more than 6x on your money. Don’t understand what the fuss is about

@plur_daddy @CL207 saw this plenty too. a form of dunning krueger...the strong PMs would look inward to identify problems in their thesis/analysis; the weak ones would blame "uncontrollable" external factors (thereby misattributing the reason for them being wrong in the first place)

@CL207 There is a strong human desire to rationalize undesirable market movements as a form of manipulation. Early in my career I would see seasoned tradfi PMs do this, blame everything on algo and HTF etc. Form of mental weakness

@Rex2922 Master is pretty good. I only played SC1 because I’m an old man. Top 2000 on Lordaeron ladder as random race in WC3. Level 48 on Halo 3 (my brother was high 50). 1850 ELO in MTG before they got rid of the rating system. Diamond in OW1. Semi-pro in DotA1.

It’s easy to see that the leftists are the Flood: collectivist and all-consuming. In another reading, we could instead say that the leftists are the Covenant who wrongly believe in the false religion of communism, that activating the Halos would take them on a Great Journey to some transcendent utopia when it would, in fact, wipe out all life in the vicinity. Here, the right, being the humans, must stop the Covenant from destroying themselves and everyone else along with them.

Regardless of what you think of hyperliquid, it's basically the only defensible altcoin with fundamentals and a plausible upside case. Every single liquid fund is long $HYPE bc 1) wtf else are you going to buy and 2) wtf will you tell LPs if it pumps and you missed it

I was thinking to myself how would a less tolerant country reverse a decade or two of mass immigration and I realized it would like what Uganda did to certain communities under Amin. Immigrants in the west should thank their lucky stars it won’t be like that. But I wouldn’t be surprised if things really deteriorate it does happen

The reason immigration is the single most important political issue is because it is very hard to reverse if it turns out it was a mistake, and doing so requires colder hearts than most modern Westerners possess. Much better to simply not roll those dice.
wanye@xwanyex

Nothing has sent me further to the right than immigration. They have to stop. I’m not going to vote for Democrats so long as there is a threat that they’ll do again what Biden just did with the border. If you like “everything that’s happening,” as they say at No Kings rallies, and you want me to keep voting for Trump and Trump-like candidates, then feel free to refuse to negotiate on this point.

A long time ago, when Blizzard still knew how to make games, before the woke virus infected their system, they wrote stories which taught the youth important lessons. What was the story of Arthas? That the road to hell is paved in good intentions. What was the story of Illidan? That if you leave the herd and walk your own path, you will pay a heavy price but it will be worth it. What was the story of Sylvanas? That it is the tortured who become torturers. What was the tragic story of the fall of Aiur? A collectivist leftist society of the Khalai sent their individualist rightist brethren, the Nerazim, into exile to the shadow planet Shakuras. Eventually an even more collectivist leftist hive-minded Zerg overran the Protoss homeworld of Aiur forcing the Khalai to flee. The Nerazim graciously received their former persecutors on Shakuras and together they made plans to eventually retake their homeworld. That when the leftists take over your country, you make a tactical retreat into the shadows to bide your time. You form a coalition of rightists, libertarians, centrists, and former leftists and you eventually take back your country. An older generation had tales like the Lord of the Rings and Foundation. A generation later we had stories like Warcraft and Starcraft. But what did the next generation have after that? Nothing of value. What is the story of Assassins Creed Shadows? That black people are just as Japanese as Japanese people??? Bizarre, deranged, and useless. The Dark Ages of Gaming not only sucked but also corrupted the minds of the youth. But now, finally, the tides are turning and the pendulum is swinging. The Japanese, who still have great influence on gaming culture, have spoken with the election of Takaichi. Woke gaming is in full decline. Games will get good again and new, better stories will be written for the youth. A new Golden Age for gaming. Culture is simply the sum of all the stories we tell ourselves.

I've been digging through @HyperliquidX's gitbook doing some research ahead of an article I'm posting about HLP tomorrow and I found how their oracle works to be super interesting. Rather than using Chainlink or Pyth, they have their own custom-built system that is powered by the network's validators -- who are essentially responsible for publishing spot prices for each perpetual asset every three seconds or so. Each validator independently computes a spot oracle price as the weighted median of spot prices from these CEXs: Binance (weight 3) OKX (weight 2) Bybit (weight 2) Kraken (weight 1) Kucoin (weight 1) Gate IO (weight 1) MEXC (weight 1) The final oracle price is then adopted by the clearinghouse after determining the weighted median of submitted prices from the validators, with weights determined by each validator's stake in the network. Pretty neat.

Okay guys, what exactly do Extended and Pacifica offer that Hyperliquid doesn’t? Is there a clear PMF, something that makes users say, “Yeah, I’d actually choose this over HL”? Or is the usage only driven by their future airdrops? Genuine question.

As I said before All Hyperliquid had to do was sustain the price manipulation, and it seems the war has been won CZ & Binance has sold a majority of their HYPE and gained absolutely nothing There's simply nothing stopping Hyperliquid from flipping BNB now
