You missed the fact that the risk v benefit of these drugs was not sufficient for ANYONE to take them at that time (or now). PLUS they did nothing to stop transmission and therefore taking them "to protect others" was ALWAYS a lie. You missed the part about mass coercion to get this stuff in bodies. Your advice is good (listen to the injured and pay them properly) but your whole statement is still based on LIES. What are you doing about that?

The 10:1 pay ratio is such infantile utopianism it frankly beggars belief. It's such an unserious, student-politics-like policy that it it almost incomprehensible that it is a real suggestion from a major contender in British politics. Mind blowing!

The NHS isn't free - it's paid for by taxpayers. Meanwhile, countries like France and the Netherlands use social insurance models, spend comparable amounts and outperform the UK on many health outcomes. This should be about results, not dogma.

Britain is home to 43.4 million working age people. 8.4 million are now on Universal Credit. That's nearly 1 in 5 people relying on benefits. And that number is only growing, meaning that hard-working people will end up paying even more tax in future. This cannot go on.

The Green Party represent a real danger to the UK. Their fantasy policies, like introducing a 10:1 pay ratio are more extreme than the Soviet Union ever achieved at its peak. As a reminder, during the reign of the Soviet Union, millions of people starved, froze, or were worked to death as a direct result of government regulation of food, energy, and enterprise. Central planning didn’t fail because of bad luck. It failed because it ignored human nature, market signals, and the basic mechanics of how economies function. The Green Party’s answer to every problem is more control. Cap what people earn. Regulate what businesses can charge. Dictate how energy is produced and distributed. They dress it up in the language of fairness and climate. But the architecture underneath is the same the state knows best, the market is the enemy, and individual ambition is a problem to be managed. The UK does not have endless money. It does not have endless resources. It has a £2.7 trillion national debt, a productivity crisis, and a shrinking tax base. Policies built on the assumption of infinite wealth don’t just fail. They cause real harm to real people.

FYI, the Green Party's call for a maximum pay ratio of 10:1 between the top and lowest-paid person in each company is i) nothing new, ii) nonsense, and iii) unworkable anyway. The twin aims are to end "obscene" payouts for "greedy CEOs" while also pulling up wages for the lowest paid as a means to tackle the cost of living crisis. Neither is sensible. Based on current wages for the lowest paid, a 10-1 ratio would probably cap top pay at around £250,000 a year. That would not be enough to attract and motivate the most senior staff, further undermining the competitiveness of the UK economy. (Just think what this would mean for any major international business, or Premier League football...) Nor is there much more scope to raise the wages of the lowest paid by fiat, instead of by policies that actually improve productivity. In particular, the UK's national minimum wage is already relatively high compared to other countries. A 10-1 ratio could not be achieved simply by redistributing the savings from cutting the wages of the highest paid, because there just aren't enough of them to make the numbers add up. It will not help with the "cost of living" either, because a higher wage bill will inevitably be passed on in higher prices (as well as job losses). The fallout from the recent increases in employers NI provides a real world example. Finally, any such cap would be a nightmare to administer. Firms would try to find ways around it, such as increasing other elements of the renumeration of the highest paid, and contracting out the lowest-paid jobs. This could actually result in lower pay for many workers, and less secure employment. In short, this is yet another example of a Green Party policy that would fall apart on first contact with reality!

Starmer says in The Times he’s “ fed-up” with Trump for pushing up energy prices with the Iran war. Well how “ fed-up” must he be with himself for making our gas and electricity 6-8 times dearer than in the US due to net zero, failure to frack or to exploit the North Sea?

We don’t even do socialism right in the UK. A working family pays £111 to take their kids to the Tower of London. A family on Universal Credit pays £4. That’s not a safety net. That’s a perk and humans love perks. Good welfare lifts people out of dependency. This rewards it.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ We are creating a two tier system between workers and those on benefits. With the gap narrowing. With a narrow gap, why bother working?

Raising taxes doesn't always raise more money. At some point, people just leave. The UK is about to find out where that point is.
