I think we need a constitutional amendment outlawing gerrymandering. There should be one set standard across the nation as to how to apportion congressional districts. Virginia's plan was evil and manipulative. Democrats have been doing the same thing for years. It is not right for either side to do it.

Can conservatives from the US explain to me why the VA gerrymander (which was approved by voters) is not OK, while the one in TX and others in the South are? Please make a serious, good-faith effort. No German random posters please. PS: I think all gerrymandering is bad.

Ok Twitter, I can’t believe I need to clarify this but obviously Trump’s bungled mismanagement of this war is not “awesome”. As I have said a million times here, it’s a disaster and he should end the war immediately. My tweet was something called “sarcasm”.

I was raised a Mormon (oh sorry...LDS). I went on a mission, became as Assistant to the President on that mission, served as a temple worker, and had Mormon Koolaid coursing through my veins, but I left the Mormon church after college and have never looked back. I wish I could help Mormons see the danger of their beliefs. I wish I could help more to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus. But they are clouded by deception. Truly pray for them. The President’s threat that “a whole civilization will die tonight” cannot be excused away as an attempt to gain leverage in negotiations with Iran. This type of rhetoric is an affront to the ideals our nation has sought to uphold and promote around the world for nearly 250 years. It undermines our long-standing role as a global beacon of freedom and directly endangers Americans both abroad and at home. The oppressive, terror-spreading regime of the Islamic Republic must be distinguished from the people and the civilization of Iran. Everyone involved—especially the President and Iran’s leaders—must de-escalate their unprecedented saber-rattling before it is too late.

The loudest critics of Trump on Iran aren’t reacting to failure, they’re fearing success. A decisive outcome would vindicate his leadership, free millions, and cement a legacy they simply can’t accept. That’s what this backlash is really about.

The term “civilian target” is an oxymoron, inasmuch as a civilian object is an object that is not a military objective, and therefore is immune from intentional attack unless and until it loses its protected status. Consequently, the term “civilian target” is inappropriate and should not be used. If military necessity exists for the seizure or destruction of a civilian object, then that object has become a military objective and ceased to be a civilian object. Converted objects may regain their civilian status if military use ceases. Applying the test for Military Objectives. The AP I military objective definition/test, ratified by the United States also adopt, contains two main elements: (1) the nature, location, purpose or use makes an effective contribution to military action, and (2) total or partial destruction, capture or neutralization, in the circumstances ruling at the time, offers a definite military advantage. If the objective is not enemy military forces and equipment, the second part of the test limits the ability to attack the objective. Both parts must apply before an object that is normally a civilian object can be considered a military objective. Recall also that attacks on military objectives which may cause incidental damage to civilians or civilian objects must comply with the principle of proportionality. Bottom line, if the IRGC Is using ANY building or object for military purposes, it is a lawful target if military necessity determines it to be so. If you actually studied what is going on in Iran, you'd see that all objects being targeted right now either are directly being used by the IRGC or are supporting the IRGC in meaningful ways -- therefore, they are legitimate targets.
