I reached out to many overseas travel agencies that cater to visitors to Japan, asking whether they would consider including our café as part of their Japan sightseeing itineraries. Unfortunately, every single agency gave essentially the same response: “Why would anyone come all the way to Japan just to visit a British-style maid café? While Cliff is generic fantasy adventure dude (which I like tbh), there is no shot people look at Eve and somehow just think "girl".

@AI_EmeraldApple The gaming community is heavily segmented and not everyone likes to solve a bunch of puzzles in a swordfight type of game. Also, I dont think it's a good game design to make people think about what the devs were thinking instead of them being immersed in the world.

Crimson Desert really has become the ultimate filter between "gamers" and "tourists".
Tourists like the hand holding, the yellow paint, the obvious click here, go there...
Gamers like the friction, the puzzles, and the "what ifs"...
It's like anime going mainstream, where stories and topics have become far more "tame". Ever since games have become far more mainstream than in the 2000's, games have become simpler, and gameplay mechanisms much more obvious. In the 90's, many games were incredibly difficult, and that's the point.
It wasn't the kind of reaction/combat gameplay like hollow knight, or elden ring. Things were obtuse, no quest markers, and where you had to go next was not obvious. You had to think and reason about what the developers were trying to do.
Today, tourists encounter a simple puzzle that most gamers have zero problem with, and they crash out and quit. I think this is why Crimson Desert won't ever gain the massive audience it could get because the bar of entry is a little high.

Game being frustrating to play because of control is dumb. If you are going to do this, you need to be able to explain why this convoluted control is beneficial.

The UI of Crimson Desert is going to needlessly push away a lot of players. True, you get smooth with a little practice, but it just makes easy puzzles feel harder. Combat is fine, the inventory and even talking to NPCs is awkward. Looting is the worse. Stand exactly here...

@yakusou8 I was thinking of doing it since I don't need subs if things are fully voiced. There are no visual novels that are fully voiced as far as I know though. Kanji is such a pain.
