Originalmente o Resident Evil 5 seria mais voltado pro survival horror, seria mais sombio que o 4, traria o quarteto original do primeiro jogo: Chris, Jill, Barry e Wesker e teria zumbis. Mas havia uma pressão enorme pra superar o RE4 então tudo mudou com a adição do COOP.
