@kissikeru @ShedainaD Truly is wild how we lost starting our normal roster. Real generous of them to just gift wrap the win like that like that. The game was incredibly cheated by both teams playing with their normal rosters, but we blew it. Darn it....

Americans shit talked and so did Europeans, those are the facts. No one "cheated", the Independent committee determined it was bullshit to suspend him and allowed him to play the same way they did for Ronaldo earlier in the tournament. US played with their normal team vs the normal Belgian team. Time to get over it, you guys got over the UK higher ups reaching out about their suspended player real quick. Try doing the same thing you did there.

I would have really respected Belgium if they hadn’t cried so hard about having to play the USA with their best scorer. If they would have said, “we don’t like the FIFA decision but we are ready to take on the USA no matter what” then I’d be rooting for them through the rest of the tournament. Instead I can’t wait to see them go.

American Football you generally aren't going to get a suspension unless you make a very intentionally dirty play or punch someone type of thing. If we were suspending people for multiple games during playoffs over accidental tackles, it would not go over well here at all. Closest thing is targeting, and that is pretty controversial but I'd say its easier to avoid and its only a 1 game suspension with the game you got suspended from counting towards that total so often back by the second half of the next game.

@MikaelAl8 Yes, it happens in American football too (along with fines). But there is an appeals process. And I think that should be the bare minimum in a single elimination tournament.

I know American input on soccer generally isn’t welcome, but I played.
Unless an offense is intentional AND violent, I am not on board with any suspension during a single elimination tournament. Have the team play a man down for the remainder of the game and then be done.

FIFA have suspended England defender Jarell Quansah for two matches for his sending off in the Mexico win. The usual suspension is a single match ban. What an absolute disgrace.

Even the having to play down a man thing for something unintentional is kind of crazy to me......sure kick the player out for the rest of the game, but let the team sub someone in. However, with the world cup happening once every 4 years, I'm just not really down with looking at a team that has prepared for this moment for years and telling them they are screwed because a player accidently stepped on a foot or slid further than expected in to someone 🤷♂️For clearly egregious malicious stuff...then suspensions and things make more sense.

scripted or not, the clips I've seen I can literally feel my brain cells die while watching it - In fact scripted is almost worse, the fact they brainstormed and the clips like this one or clips of the dude sounding like he can barely put a thought together are what they come up with, makes it even worse. I'm just genuinely shocked enough people find this entertaining to make these kids millions, good for them getting the bag, but it doesn't make it any less shocking people actually watch it.

I don't know how you lads have convinced yourself that deciding whether to cross, shoot, pass, or flop is some quantum physics IQ requirement, but doing things like reading gaps, diagnosing coverage protections/ reading the O and D pre-snap, checking routes, and going through decision trees of hundreds of plays is like reciting the alphabet. Both are hard in their own ways and require knowledge and feel for the game, you can stop pretending one sport requires being member of Mensa and the other is 1st grade recess though.

Frankly, I doubt it. Football is far more complex than eggball. Just because you managed to master an 11 minute turn-based game of brute force and scripted plays doesn't mean you could excel at a continuous, flowing one that demands elite touch, vision, stamina, and IQ from every single player for 90+ minutes. The same way dominating Monopoly doesn't make you a potential real estate mogul. If the US thinks it can compete, build a grassroots football culture, an open league system, and clubs capable of attracting and challenging the best youngsters. It would take decades, but it's feasible if you stop wasting energy on games no one else wants to play or watch. Good luck 🤞

The girl spraying was also saying "back the fuck up from me" AFTER he was already walking away basing her acting like he was coming up to her doesn't mean he actually was, the footage very clearly indicates he wasn't

He was pressing on another girl who told him it wasn't his rule to apologize for. You can hear her say, "Don't come up in my face" just as he got sprayed. He doesn't have a prayer pressing charges after mace girl warned him several times to back away. Then he presses on her friend.

Guys a douche, but he didn't do anything besides be an asshole, and he had already taken 3 or 4 steps walking away when she followed him and started bear spraying him with his back turned. You don't get to bear spray people for annoying you, sorry chief that is just not how it works. When someone has their back turned to you, walking away, and made no previously violent movements or threats, good luck convincing a court he was an imminent threat.
