@SamuelPorritt04 Could try and double check but would guess its do with the amount of touches and/or time between him passing to a goalscorer and them scoring.
Away to QP maybe the one to check? McPake takes maybe a touch or two then shoots for his goal in that one.

@StuartMcK17 I dont think hes nearly technical enough for that, based on what ive seen. If he plays itll be beside Samuel to just batter the CBs about.
Think theyll play 3 proper CMs and they like the back 3 against us too, and theyll need to play Fitzpatrick with Watt out.

@StAnalysis Diack can’t fit into a wide position as a temporary solution? If they play Fitzpatrick, I’d presume they’ll look to try balls in behind, or fit him into a free role around the 10.
Still some decent players in there. Samuel has always caused us problems.

Wouldve assumed, and think we were maybe preparing for, Thistle to play 3-5-2 with Watt and Samuel up front
Hes missed 2 games and theyve gone 4-3-3ish with Chalmers/Fitzpatrick wide

@StAnalysis Watching Diack on Friday, he sees quite far away from this level off football. Surely stick with the 4-3-3 and fit someone into Chalmers position. Stanway having to play deeper due to Smyth? We will likely stay the same shape I’d imagine.

@iansorare Aye wasnt saying it was unwarranted, just that he, and the squad in general really, have really stepped up again.
Just enjoying McAlear shooting more aswell now, he'd probably have recycled that ball around a bit more, or crossed, earlier this season.

@StAnalysis Tbf, the criticism was justified. He went through a 3-4 game period where his level slipped. Maybe a bit harsh because over the whole season he's been excellent but he's stepped it up when needed and has looked much more like the player he was in the first few months

Also worth noting, considering the criticism of him that was starting to appear and how everyone seemed to want someone to step up for us beyond McPake, that McAlear now has 3 goals in his last 3 games and every single one has put us in the lead.
