Students First California strongly opposes #AB1955. Involving parents when a school takes an active role in socially transitioning a child is critical for the well-being of children and for maintaining trust between schools and parents. AB 1955 does the opposite.

. @GavinNewsom & @RobBonta have concocted a strange legal theory to undermine CA voters who unequivocally said citizens should draw maps for politicians, not the other way around. It’s undemocratic, it’s wrong, and it needs to be stopped. If they move forward in this fashion they will rip the state and this nation apart. I hope my colleagues in the Legislature will stand against this farce.

Where have we seen this before and what can go wrong?

INBOX: @CSBA_Now shares guidance regarding the @TVUSD textbook controversy. It says the state would have to circumvent existing law to pursue the action proposed in its July 13 announcement & that the governor doesn’t cite any legal authority for this action.
