@GameDevMicah i just looked into it, since fortnite has two different cameras: one for lobby, and one for discovery (close to the character), for them to transition properly would they have to pixel stream every session?

@tectory No - they pixel stream the whole engine!

@GameDevMicah interesting, but it would lack player feedback, since the camera does physically move in the world closer to the player
the goal would be to keep the same visuals

more notes:
- season 1 had no slope sliding animations, so if you slid down a hill, it would just show a falling animation
- season 7 to season 8 had different turning animations, they were working on turning additives and initially they used the animations already existing (which isn't super smooth) but then later in development they polished the turn animation
- the season 1 jump animations shown in this video are not from season 1, the ones originally in season 1 are awful and i don't even know how they messed it up

INFO UPDATE!!!!!
Season 1 actually makes it so the legs move as fast as the player is moving while crouching, but later they removed it

so to prevent the animation looking werid, they made it so the crouch animations never slow down or speed up depending on your speed leading to this issue in the game where your character is walking while your moving really slow
