It wouldn’t be hard to defend checks and balances, the rule of law, and American democracy. Senators McConnell, Collins, Murkowski, and Tillis would just have to issue a statement saying they won’t support manifestly unfit nominees like RFK Jr., Gabbard, Gaetz, and Hegseth.

A handful of billionaires now have unprecedented control over banking, the food we eat, the health care we can access and, now, the information we receive. This is what oligarchy looks like.

Trump wants to avoid FBI background checks for the likes of Matt Gaetz and Tulsi Gabbard? A president who cared about the country would want to make sure their nominees were not child sex traffickers or fond of dictators. But it’s never been America first. Only Trump first.

During the Covid pandemic, there was a sharp difference between the fatality rate of those who listened to the anti-vaccine nonsense delivered to Republicans on multiple communication levels and those who trusted their doctor. If you watched Fox News as your main news source, you had a higher probability of rejecting vaccine and subsequently dying from Covid. Now that RFK, Jr. is directing the nation's health efforts, there will be another stark line between those who listen to this steroid-abusing whack job and those who listen to medical professionals. Lies about the Covid vaccine killed thousands. RFK, Jr.'s lies and conspiracy theories will kill thousands and ruin the health of many more.
