Today, we celebrate the resurrection and the hope we have in our risen Savior! “The angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.’” (Matt. 28: 5-6) Happy Easter from the Johnson family.

Today, Christians around the world observe Good Friday. We call it “Good Friday” because what seemed like the darkest day led to the greatest gift of all time — the resurrection of Jesus Christ, His triumph over sin and death, and the gift of eternal life offered freely to all who believe.

Congratulations to the Artemis II crew and the @NASA team on this successful launch. Our nation is watching proudly, and we pray for a safe and successful mission. The sky’s the limit for America’s Golden Age under President Trump’s leadership.
NASA@NASA

Liftoff. The Artemis II mission launched from @NASAKennedy at 6:35pm ET (2235 UTC), propelling four astronauts on a journey around the Moon. Artemis II will pave the way for future Moon landings, as well as the next giant leap — astronauts on Mars.

My joint statement with @LeaderJohnThune on DHS funding: We appreciate and share the President’s determination to once and for all bring an end to the Democrat DHS shutdown.   In the coming days, Republicans in the Senate and House will be following through on the President’s directive by fully funding the entire Department of Homeland Security on two parallel tracks: through the appropriations process and through the reconciliation process.   We appreciate that Senator Graham and the Senate Budget Committee have already initiated the process of developing a budget resolution that will ensure border security and immigration enforcement will be funded for the balance of the Trump Administration and insulated from future attempts by the Democrats to defund those agencies.   We operated under a belief that while our country is in the midst of an international armed conflict, Democrats might finally come to their senses and understand that defunding our homeland security agencies is beyond reckless and very dangerous. While we hoped they would accept the 60-day CR to fund the Department entirely so that bipartisan negotiations could continue, it is now abundantly clear that Democrats place allegiance to their radical left-wing base above all else — including their own power of the purse — which means open borders and protecting criminal illegal aliens. That is not acceptable to Republicans in Congress, nor is it to the American people. We cannot allow Democrats to any longer put the safety of the American public at risk through their open border policies, so we are taking that off the table.   In following this two-track approach, the Republican Congress will fully reopen the Department, make sure all federal workers are paid, and specifically fund immigration enforcement and border security for the next three years so that those law-enforcement activities can continue uninhibited. In return, Democrats will once again demonstrate to the American people their support for open borders and keeping criminal illegal immigrants in America.

Praying for the safety and success of the Artemis II crew and @NASA as they undertake a mission that will carry humanity farther into space than we have gone in over half a century. I had the privilege of hosting these courageous pioneers at the State of the Union earlier this year. Americans are watching proudly as our Golden Age reaches new heights! 🚀

This year, taxpayers will receive $191 billion in additional refunds and have $30 billion less withheld from their paychecks — all thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts. Real money. Real people. Make no mistake: every single Democrat voted against you getting more money in your pocket — BUT — Republicans delivered.

It is my distinct honor and great privilege to invite His Majesty King Charles III, The King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to address a Joint Meeting of Congress. Our two nations share one of the most consequential partnerships in history, and together we will mark the historic milestone of America’s 250th year of independence.

I’ve had the privilege of knowing FL-26 constituent Bob Mitchell for years–he’s a hardworking, wonderful man who represents the very best of our community. It was great to welcome him to Washington, D.C. and to hear about his meeting with @SpeakerJohnson. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts and the No Tax on Tips provision, Bob, and millions of Americans like him, are keeping more of what they earn. @HouseGOP delivered real relief for hardworking families.

The Working Families Tax Cuts were written for hardworking Americans who deserve to keep more of what they earn. I caught up with Uber Eats driver Bob Mitchell, one of the millions of Americans who benefits from the No Tax on Tips provision. Every single Democrat voted against allowing workers to keep more of their money. Republicans are delivering real relief for the American people.

NEW: @SpeakerJohnson says the Democratic Party's latest proposal to end the shutdown came in overnight—and it fully defunded Border Protection and Customs and Immigration Enforcement: "We can't be a part of that."

House Republicans will have NO part in zeroing out CBP and ICE. Democrats need to STOP protecting criminal illegal aliens and playing games with real people’s lives. We must support Homeland Security, get our government running again, and PAY our hardworking law enforcement who keep us safe. House Republicans have voted to fully fund DHS **four times** and will keep fighting for a solution.

Sheridan Gorman should still be alive today.  We lift her loved ones up in prayer and continue our fight for common sense laws that protect Americans from these violent illegal aliens. Democrats refuse to say her name because their policies led to her death. Now, they've caused the LONGEST shutdown in history — dangerously refusing to fund Homeland Security to protect criminal illegal aliens who have killed innocent Americans like Sheridan.

Make no mistake — this DHS shutdown is on @SenSchumer and Democrats. We had a bipartisan, bicameral deal to FULLY FUND DHS. But Democrats walked away and are demanding we defund the agencies that protect us from criminal illegal immigrants. Why? They’re afraid of their base.

The tragic murder of Sheridan Gorman by an illegal alien released into the country under the Biden-Harris administration was preventable. Open-border and sanctuary city policies have a devastating cost, and this loss is one more reason why Congress must support the dedicated @DHSgov law enforcement who work to keep criminals like this off our streets. foxnews.com/us/slain-colle…
