@TheModerateCase Yes. I adored JP2. I despised Francis. I'm lukewarm on Leo. The doctrine of the Faith is not debatable; the tenets laid out in the Catechism are infallible. The Church has been infiltrated by clergy who are not faithful to Church doctrine. We're obligated to oppose the heretics.

Question for Catholics: Can one be a Catholic and not like the Pope and disagree with his statements and views on religion and or politics? If so, why? If not, why? I have seen tons of Catholics taking both sides on this. I am genuinely curious.

@Vitus_osst Catholics can disagree with the Pope. Not on doctrine, but on their political views. Especially when they are openly Marxist (as was Bergoglio), or from orders (like the Jesuits) that have been compromised by subservise homosexuals who openly defy Catholic teaching.

There were ~30 popes before he was even born. Jesus founded the Church (singular) — One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, not a denomination. It’s still here!

When he denounces injustice, he is imitating Christ. When he speaks for the poor, he is repeating word for word the Sermon on the Mount. Those who are angry at him are not fighting with Pope Leo XIV. They are fighting with Christ. Because it was Jesus who said: ‘Whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me.’ Rejecting the Pope for being merciful is not something a Christian does. The problem is not that Leo XIV has strayed from Christ. The problem is that some have strayed so far from the Gospel that they no longer recognize it when they see it.

You’re a Catholic telling the Pope to stay in his lane because he’s advocating for peace? At this point, many of you would probably choose Trump over Jesus himself. Hundreds of millions of people throughout the world are immersed in extreme poverty. Yet, disproportionate wealth remains in the hands of a few. It is an unjust scenario, in the face of which we cannot fail to question ourselves and commit to change things. There is no lack of resources at the root of disparities, but the need to address solvable problems related to a more equitable distribution of wealth, to be achieved with moral sense and honesty.

@ga_devitto We've had bad Popes before. We will survive. The only tragedy here is that weak, arrogant fools like Leo, who believe there is a peaceful, diplomatic way to deal with maniacal Islamists, will benefit from the steps Trump has taken to kill the murderous Iranian leadership.

Perhaps neocons will understand it with this example: if we were in the Middle Ages, the Pope would have already excommunicated the entire Trump administration and called for a Crusade against Israel for the harm it is causing to local Christian communities and pilgrims in the Holy Places. So, be glad we are in a peaceful era in which the Pope only advocates for peace and diplomacy.
