@macbody @tomdanielson Pre-2024 Tadej could be broken mentally, but I think he has learned a lot since then. It was his new found mental toughness that got him through the tour last year.

@tomdanielson As much as I love Jonas it isn’t his numbers, that will break a scary UAE team. It’s a mental thing. Pogacar can be broken mentally. And TVL have done it before. Hell, they were close in 2025. Jonas uncharacteristically had two bad days.

Now that was a dynamic stage 6 of the Volta Catalunya! Here are seven takeaways I have after watching it (from the couch, of course). 1. Jonas Super Strong and Not Riding All Out For me, he looks very Tadej 2024 (although he was some 18 seconds faster today than Tadej's time), doing races he can win and winning without going outside of the zones and timing his winning efforts like a workout, not overreaching. I think this both gives him confidence and is building his body stronger in the races without breaking it down. He can't control the level Tadej is at, but he sure is controlling the level he is at, and that seems to be the best one yet.

@tomdanielson What are your thoughts on the organization essentially wiping the record book and resetting beginning in 2022 due to suspicion of performance drug use in prior years?

In 2002, I climbed Mt. Washington and set a record that changed my life. 7.6 miles. 4,500 feet. 12% grade. Time: 49:24. I was 23. A former MTBer from East Lyme, CT. That day I beat Tyler Hamilton’s record, he set right after he finished 4th at the Tour de France. It launched everything. My first pro contract with Saturn. A call from Lance. And eventually, my first WorldTour contract with Fasso Bortolo. A lot has happened in the 24 years since. My career was launched and lost. The identity that came and went with it. Cancer. A partial amputation. Lost fitness. Years of not knowing who I was without the bike. I’m not sure I can do this. That’s the truth. Sub-49 on Mt. Washington has never been done. There are so many reasons I’m not the guy for it. I’m 48. Dad of 5. Partial amputee. Business owner. Coming back from 11 years away from hard training. But the audaciousness behind the attempt is the whole point. And this time I have something I didn’t have in 2002. My own TTM Performance Model. Now as a coach I’m putting my money where my mouth is. My TTM doesn’t sugarcoat anything. It lays out the gap between where I am today and where I need to go in stark detail from to power, zone duration, durability, weight, mental strength, technique. Every facet and milestone, each point on the progression is mapped out. My hope is that it takes me somewhere I stopped believing was possible. For me, that place is becoming a world class climber. See you August 15, 2026. 🌙

Q: Is there any point you think Congress will need to give congressional authorization? MIKE JOHNSON: My understanding of the law is that the president is acting well within his authority. It's not a declaration of war. It's not required because it's defensive in design.

@faustocoppi60 @lucasaganronald Del Toro will be fine. I think he started the climb too far back, but his pacing strategy was pretty good. He’s still a young guy. I still think he is the favorite for the overall GC.

@tomdanielson I'm afraid Pog just modulates his pace based on the gap he has. That's why he looks so fresh at the finish.

Also if you are wondering why Remco loses a bunch of time at first in both Worlds and Euro champs, but then holds it stable, even bringing the gap down in the end? Could the answer suggest changing strategy would be better? When Tadej attacks Remco has gone too deep trying to follow and then is forced to reset and recover around the others. The others are below his level which provides himself time to recover while riding with him, however this group loses more time to Tadej than Remco would riding his own pace. Remco then either does more work in the group to hold the gap to Tadej or he leaves them to go on his own. Either or he is able to go a similar pace as Tadej now (or even faster) as he has had the initial recovery time with the others where Tadej has not. Could he have let Tadej go on the climb and then ridden him back on the flats at the Euro champs? Probably not but he definitely could have made the race harder on Tadej and closer with this strategy.

During Hegseth's rant today, he said that drill instructors will be allowed to assault recruits, and declared the return of what's know as the "shark attack." Here's a good explanation why the shark attack was retired. Hegseth proves he's a clumsy fool. youtube.com/watch?v=iq-LWn…

@faustocoppi60 24 km (15 mi) for pro teams is an absolute joke for a distance. TTT has no business determining overall standings.

Stage 5. La Vuelta is finally back to Spain for a 24 km TTT in Figueres. ⏱️🇪🇸 It's short but at least it's not a joke distance. The weather conditions might bring some surprises. Visma is top favourite but they will have just 7 riders. My pick: Ineos Grenadiers. #lavuelta25

@BigNGandBertie @triviumcolombia I'd be real surprised if Pogi races the Vuelta this year. Remember, he has been racing since the UAE Tour in February and a full spring schedule. He looks pretty tired. I bet he only concentrates on worlds in September and Lombardia in October.
