@TorRoby @60Minutes I only brought up other groups to show that it was a common practice for krewes to gatekeep their members. Just like non-black people are greatly discouraged to put on an Indian costume. I think it probably should be these days to keep the culture unique.

@60Minutes When he said that they weren't allowed to go to the big parades and stuff, that wasn't true. They weren't allowed to be apart of Krewes(maybe that's the and stuff part), but to say they weren't allowed to attend parades is false.

@BookerGWash Texas as a whole is Southwest, that's the culture. Houston is more "Deep South" bc of the transplants. The migration of Louisiana, Mississippi, etc has ingrained a more Southern feel.

Can anyone here explain to folks why Miami, Austin, and Nashville are not culturally considered the Deep South—but Jacksonville, Houston, and Memphis are? I know how I would explain this but just interested to see other explanations.

@NaturalBB_Conn @unclelukereal1 That isn't true. The majority of HBCU coaches are professional. A lot of them are either recruited from other conferences, or go on to coach in other conferences.

@unclelukereal1 @unclelukereal1 have you seen these HBCU coaches? A lot of them are unprofessional and barely can coach. I’ll take the chance of my kid playing at a PWI. More exposure

College coaches are not prioritizing Black athletes' futures. Many support Trump, ignore DEI, and treat players like used car salesmen. It's time for HBCUs to step up and for alumni to invest in programs that genuinely care about these young men. #CollegeSports #NIL #HBCUs

@unclelukereal1 I’m so sick of hearing about HBCUs, the majority of them are named after white men & women. They just call it HBCU because it’s in an area ONCE predominated by copper colored people. Btw. Bill Gates wife gave a lot of money to HBCU & taxpayer money.
