Today, March 31, 2026, we stand in solidarity with the transgender community as we celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). This day is a powerful tribute to the courage, resilience, and joy of transgender and gender non-conforming communities in Uganda. Despite navigating a landscape of profound challenges, your visibility is an act of resistance and a beacon of hope. Today, we honor those who continue to live authentically and advocate for their right to exist and thrive. We acknowledge the vital importance of found family and the safe spaces you continue to create for trans siblings and people of diverse gender identities. Visibility is not just about being seen; it is about being recognized, respected, and protected. To the transgender community within FARUG and across Uganda: your identity is valid, your life is precious, and your courage does not go unnoticed. We celebrate your strength today and every day as you continue to lead the way toward a more inclusive and equitable future. #TDOV2026 #TransVisibilityUG #FARUG #IdentityStrengthResilience

Today, as the world marks International Womxn’s Day, the Uganda National Trans Forum (UNTF) celebrates the power, resilience, and leadership of transgender women and gender-diverse womxn across Uganda. Across our communities, trans womxn continue to organize, care for one another, and build collective power even in environments that seek to silence or erase them. Their courage fuels our movement, and their leadership shapes the future we are fighting for. The struggle for gender justice must include all womxn. A feminist future is only possible when trans and gender-diverse womxn are visible, protected, and celebrated. Today, we honor the strength of our community from grassroots organizers to rural leaders who continue to hold the line for dignity, justice, and freedom. Our existence is resistance. Our solidarity is power. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2026 #WomxnsDay #TransWomenAreWomen #UgandaNationalTransForum #TransUganda #MovementBuilding #GiveToGain

UGANET Mourns the loss of Joan Amek UGANET is deeply saddened by the passing of Joan Amek, a dear friend of the organisation and a tireless advocate for justice. Joan was vibrancy, energy, love, kindness, and boldness in human form. She showed up fully, spoke truth fearlessly, and stood unwaveringly with marginalised communities. Her work, her spirit, and her courage touched countless lives. She reminded us that advocacy is not just about policy, it is about people, dignity, and compassion. Rest in power, Joan Amek. You will always be remembered. #UGANET4SocialJustice

The #WorldAIDSDay2025 reminds us: HIV is a virus, not a crime. People living with HIV deserve respect, care, and dignity. Wear red, speak up, show love. Zero stigma, zero discrimination—that’s our goal! We all deserve a supportive environment. #1stDecember #EndAIDSStigma

Come for the action and stay for our day-long MEDICAL CAMP to receive free HIV testing, health talks, counseling, cervical cancer screening, and family planning services with us. We welcome you to feel at home both today & tomorrow as we join hands in knowing our HIV status through testing, break stigma through open discussion, remember those we've lost to HIV/AIDS - and most importantly work together to prevent, treat and live long, healthy lives. #iKnowMyHIVStatus #iKnowKati2025

Transgender Day of Remembrance | November 20th Today, we honour the lives of our transgender and gender-diverse siblings whose light was stolen by violence, hate, and systemic erasure. We remember every name, every story, every journey. We hold space for the families, communities, and movements forever changed by this loss. In a year defined by heightened hostility and shrinking civic space, our remembrance becomes an act of resistance. It is a call to safeguard the living, to build power, and to demand a Uganda and a world where every trans person can exist, thrive, and be protected without fear. As we mark TDOR 2025, we recommit to fighting for justice, visibility, and dignity for all transgender and gender-diverse people in Uganda. We remember. We resist. We rise. #TDOR2025 #UgandaTransForum #TransRightsAreHumanRights #SayTheirNames

Years have come and gone, yet the fight for dignity endures. For centuries, transgender persons have demanded their fundamental rights to recognition, acceptance, and safety. Their fierce resistance and determination to combat transphobia have long been met with hearts filled with hatred and fear. Today, this hatred is dangerously amplified by the global rise of anti-LGBTQ+ movements seeking to roll back our basic human rights. But their spirits cannot and will not be broken. As we mark TDOR 2025, we stand in solidarity with our trans siblings and honour the legacy of those who fought before us. We call on all allies and community members to continue challenging the pervasive vice of transphobia. To every beautiful soul standing firm: thank you for your courage, your joy, and your unwavering commitment to existence. We urge you to stay resilient. Remember that true beauty lies not only on the surface, but deep within your compassionate hearts. Let us join hands in solidarity, resilience, and hope as we commemorate and embrace the meaning of TDOR 2025 together with the rest of the world. #TransIsHuman #TDOR2025

It’s Trans Awareness Week! From 13th–19th November 2025, the Uganda National Trans Forum (UNTF) proudly launches a nationwide campaign dubbed “This Is Me” a powerful celebration of authenticity, resilience, and pride. At a time when trans and gender-diverse Ugandans face erasure, discrimination, and fear, this campaign reclaims visibility as resistance. “This Is Me” amplifies voices and stories that remind the world that trans people are not invisible we are here, we belong, and we are part of Uganda’s story. Throughout this week, we’ll share powerful stories, portraits, and reflections that showcase courage, joy, and the strength of our community. Because being seen is an act of defiance. Because visibility saves lives. Because this is us unapologetic, visible, and unbroken. Join the movement. Celebrate with us. #ThisIsMeUG | #TransAwarenessWeek2025 | #TransRightsAreHumanRights
