Joining @YPlus_Global #AIDS2026 panel, UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director @AchrekarAngeli underlines the importance of youth leadership: "There is no way the HIV response will be successful without you." She stresses that youth-led organizations must be central, funded & supported.

Despite significant progress in the fight against HIV, gender inequalities continue to shape who is most at risk, who can access services,and who is left behind. Harmful gender norms,stigma, discrimination,GBV,and unequal access to healthcare continue to undermine efforts to end HIV as a public health threat. An effective HIV response requires more than medical interventions.It requires gender-responsive policies that address these realities,protect human rights, promote gender equality, and ensure everyone can access quality,stigma-free HIV services.
