@Hyeyunie I can only live alone if I have enough friends living in walking distance that I can hang out with someone whenever, otherwise it can get lonely for sure

@FoolOfD I strongly believe this is because they were raised with servants and people doing things for them is just the expectation to them

@FoolOfD I once lived with south african people and they wouldn't do their chores, when I'd do their dishes for them (they wouldn't respond whenever I asked them to do their chores) to make space in the sink they'd get very mad at me for putting them away in the wrong place.

There isn't much I like about Americans, but the understated cultural taboo we have around having servants/hired help and being generally polite to waitstaff is a genuine achievement in egalitarianism. Much of the rest of the world are absolute savages in this regard.

From the way I’ve heard people discuss ink ribbons in RE, I always thought learning when to save and being smart with it would be a skill. But I’ve never ran into any problems with it cus they give you so much

@Anon_Wednesday1 @judejon_ @pizzapurist I guess I just mixed it up with regular healthy eating, but isn't eating whatever you want whenever you want just what everyone does by default? With how common (at least where I live) really unhealthy food is that seems to be causing the obesity and heart health epidemic

@KuroSekaiAnime Nerrel is one of the few tubers where it feels like he is consistently saying something informed and compelling regardless of whether I agree with it or not. His whole shtick is "this is a tired topic let's talk abt it" but it feels like he always says smth new.

@pbrune9 @trisatopos @thechosenberg Ye I think working more than the standard 40 hr/week to achieve that goal is dumb especially when you're younger. But you can FIRE doing 40 or less pretty easily depending on where you live and your career. It's mostly cutting down on dumb expenses and investing

@Tumbleware @trisatopos @thechosenberg The point is you need to know what to do with your time. If you spent your 20s and 30s grinding on work, and not doing things with friends, well you don’t exactly know what to do with freedom. Some are totally prepared for it, but many don’t

@trisatopos @thechosenberg I think being conscious of spending and investing as a young person is incredibly valuable and working a corporate job will not bring 95% of people any fulfillment. I think you can go too far and miss out on shit but aside from that why not have more time in your 30s and 40s
