@Matt_Pinner Lisa Welchel came through my line when I worked at Target in the mid 2000s. I didn’t realize it was her till after she left and everyone else told me. She was nice. Brief hello, handled her groceries, she paid and we said have a nice day. Before her Survivor appearance

Who’s the most famous person you’ve ever spoken to? Not “seen from far away” — actually talked to, even for a minute. A quick hello, a handshake, a normal conversation… and you still remember it. Who was it?

@JonKatz79 I beg to differ. Prime GenX leading the way. 70's kid - Old Dump Trucks and Charlies Angels 80's Teens - MTV and John Hughes 90's College - Grunge and Lalapalooza!

Tail end of Gen X is top tier of all Gen X. 80s kid + 90s teen is the right combo.

Last night I ordered takeout, drove to the restaurant and picked it up. I signed the receipt and didn’t tip on the tip line. I feel guilty and judged every time I do this. No tips on takeout, right?

@HRH_SHP No tip if I’m standing up when I order, if you’re handing me a bag to carry home or if I have to bring my own food to the table. If you take my order at the table and/or bring my food to my table I tip well:

I'm not gonna lie, it is frustrating when you ask a patient what's wrong and they just give you a diagnosis. Like "I have a chest infection". OK, you're probably right but I need to know your symptoms to see if I agree with that diagnosis. I can't just take your word for it.
Julia Marie@julia_doubleday

You can’t go in being like “I’m having migraines and I’ve seen that the first line medication intervention for migraines is triptans so I’d like to try that”, many drs won’t LIKE THAT. You have to go “oh nooo my heeeaddd hurtttsss what do i dooo”

@jabberwock951 Mind you, i literally had to diagnose myself after trying to find help for over 5 years. FIVE years of explaining symptoms yet no one could put it together? Not to mention, yall only spend two minutes with us and rush us out. So 🤷🏻‍♀️

@peachsweet_tea @jabberwock951 Yep. Nothing like coming in with classic hypothyroid symptoms which you know because you watched your grandma go through the same thing & being told you’re overweight (duh) & need to exercise, stop eating carbs. What about this crippling fatigue? Stop being lazy. Cool.

Doctors dismissing patients not knowing their bodies is actually a part of the problem. I told my doctor I was having thyroid issues and my symptoms and he gave me a whole lecture of how I wasn’t and made me pull two blood panels just to prove I was correct and then said I didn’t need an endo referral. I called the endo myself and she was pissed he didn’t send me sooner. Maybe sometimes yall just fucking suck. Consider that

@Her_Nonymous_D If you were in some quiet restaurant or a library I could see asking you to hush the baby but at a car seat safety class?! And it was happy babbling? GTFO. I’d have left. Your local police or fire dept can help you with the car seat and they often have free safety checks

I’m convinced some people forget that babies are… babies. They don’t have mute buttons, and they definitely don’t know how to “keep it down.” I went to a car seat safety class yesterday, just trying to do the responsible parent thing. My baby was sitting there, babbling softly, not crying, not screaming, just making little sounds like babies do. Nothing disruptive. Then the instructor stops and says, “Can you quiet him down?” I paused, because… what? I looked at her and said, “You want the baby to be quiet?” In disbelief and she goes, “We’re used…

@atensnut My second cousin had some. I Smacked myself in the head and on my knuckles and put them down, never tried them again. Cousin could do them correctly and get them going fast and loud. I can still hear the sound.

@chillywilly214 I am a parent and you’re right. Kids need the routine of having a consistent bedtime. Plus they get less out of control if they’re not constantly over tired from staying up late. Parents who let kids stay up and do whatever are shooting themselves in the foot.

I'm not parent, but it baffles me that people my age dont make their kids go to bed at a reasonable hour on school nights. 🧐 When I was a kid, the lights were out and I was in bed by 8:30. Middle school was 9:30 and high school was "10:30"

Lena Dunham admits Adam Driver was a nightmare to work with in Girls. She forgot her lines and he “hurled a chair at the wall next to me" "Adam screamed, ‘F*CKING SAY SOMETHING... WAKE THE F*CK UP. I’M SICK OF WATCHING YOU JUST STARE'... I said my lines correctly after that."

Unpopular opinion: dresses are more comfortable and affordable than most other clothes - including jeans and sweats.

@zzgator @RoamingGnome8 @racheljwelcher IDK pants make me feel too warm when the summer temps are 90+ in Texas. Slip shorts are thin, moisture wicking and I can get away with nothing covering my lower legs but my skirt and shoes on my feet. Air circulating is a major plus.

@racheljwelcher I wear dresses to work in spring/summer. Comfortable, affordable and I am not overheating when I leave the office because it’s hot outside. Pants/cardigans in the winter.

@UCK2017 Parallel play might not look like it's super important but it is. Also, associative play, which is the next step, happens between ages 2-3

I think socializing your babies is a very important part of the SAHM role and I think introverted moms have a responsibility to push themselves out of their comfort zone for the sake of their babies

@babyfeverbabe Disagree if you want, and parent your child that way if you please. It can be fun to get toddlers together but they don’t desperately need it. They play near each other at 2-3, but they don’t really play together until age 3/4. That’s just normal child development

@DiaryofaSickGrl I was too young to have thyroid disease, that I desperately needed to lose weight, spend an hour daily working out & stop eating carbs, because I was obese. (I have Hashimoto’s thyroid disease, he was 100% wrong)
