@Storyzville Trying to get back to Twitter. Horror author here, currently working on short stories 😊

Good afternoon #WritingCommunity! If you're an author and you'd like another follower, I'm putting my hand up, so drop me a comment below. And have a great day!
English

@brclothwrites Lived round the corner from two graveyards around twelve years ago. Best neighbours ever 🤣
English

@Danielwoodrell1 Partially trimming. As I was writing, I noticed my MC doing a lot of grabbing in terms of objects. So while the 1st draft is fine because it's there, there's repetition of character names, repeatedly doing things (with similar wording) that needs trimmed for sentence structure.
English

@WriterlyWriting @WriterlyWriting I hear you, first person can be a sly trap that lulls you into a rhythm you don’t notice till you read it back cold. Do you ever find those repetitions help set a mood you don’t want to lose, or is it always a matter of trimming them away?
English

@Danielwoodrell1 It's likely shaping what's there. In its current draft, I've noticed A LOT of repetition with words a d since it's 1st person, a lot "I did this," "I did that," so it's trying to figure out the best way to reword without falling into those traps 😊
English

@WriterlyWriting @WriterlyWriting Sounds like the kind of tale that keeps the lights burning long after you should’ve gone to sleep. Forty-one pages of A4 is a fine haul. What’s the toughest part for you cutting pieces you like, or finding the right way to shape what’s already there?
English

@A_Novel_Concept Yes, I write all of my 1st drafts by hand including one novel, several short stories and a third of the way through a second book 😊 I've found that it let's me get all the roughness and word vomit out before I type it up, edit it and get feedback 😄
English

@WriterlyWriting Wow! You wrote it by hand!? I feel like that’s definitely rare this day in age 😲
English

@HLDocherty Nota bot, horror writer here 👋 Working on short stories for competitions and working on a second book, a vampire novel. Onto my third draft of my first book, which is the moodboard below 😊

English

Of my last 15 followers, only 1 is definitely not a bot or trying to sell me something.
#WritingCommunity holler at me please.
Tell me about your WIPs, share your moodboards, do all the things that I want from this platform 😭

@AuthorGFAllen I scared a Subway (the sandwich place, not the mode of transport) by appearing from nowhere during a storm then never went in since 😅
English

@MCTaylor_author My end goal. I got stuck on a bit in my first book and good lord was it like wading through mud. I kept my overall goal in mind, got through it and treated myself after. Maybe treat yourself to nice chocolate or a notebook when finished hard bits?
English

What motivates you to keep writing when it's hard? Asking for a friend #writingcommunity #sendhelp
English

@savannah_oldham Oh lord. Wishing you much better writing days and many flowing words ❤️
English

@WriterlyWriting That’s been writing for me for the past two months😂. I hope the words come more easily tomorrow!
English

@davebanthony Very true. Just frustrating on those days when it happens especially when previous writing days have gone smoothly and the words flowed.
English

Yep! Sometimes those days can spread out to a week or month! But just remember to keep writing, it’ll pass.

You ever have a day where writing is like pulling teeth and just won't go? Yeah, that's been my day.
English

@shgrimm I wrote two pages. And it's been a story I've planned for a while, but I feel the pull to another story. So I'm tempted to write that then go back to this story.
English

@WriterlyWriting Me too. Stared at the page for an hour this morning and wrote maybe a hundred words.
English

@BruceNo10285439 That's how I write all my first drafts now, with a notebook and pen. It does really work to get the words flowing without worrying or obsessing.
