EXCLUSIVE: Since at least September 12, unidentified drones have violated Algerian airspace, penetrating up to 50 km into the country. The drones reportedly flew over military academies, bases, and even monitored the Russian Navy’s submarine Novorossiysk (B-261), which was accompanied by the tug MB-119 Jakob Grebelsky during its stay in Algeria. According to my sources, the Territorial Air Defence Forces detected the drones multiple times and received direct orders from Army Chief of Staff General Saïd Chengriha to shoot them down, but were unable to do so, raising serious questions. The most plausible explanation is that the drones belong to a NATO member state, although this is not confirmed.
