I've been working since yesterday on heneos.github.io/every-fibonacc… Inspired by every-uuid[dot]com. Although, my idea for the scrollbar is not so clever. I think I can make it possible to display even more than 2^128 fibonacci numbers 🙂

I'm an applied mathematician. 😅 Not a compiler dev. The compiler dev is a _hobby_ project, and I'm writing it in Go, completely. I need C/C++ with OpenMP for doing my startup's actual work, which I have been neglecting for a long time, ie develop physical simulations on HPCs.

@NovaOSDev @Malix_Labs LSP is not something unique to Python. LSP opening a submenu is something you can configure in your editor, I believe. I don’t think you understand the benefits of a LSP.

@Malix_Labs never really needed to use LSP really😅 also, cool; wont use it tho bcs i dont use python so to python devs who dont know, uhh, that exists i find LSP quite annoying when it opens a sub menu of options automatically, especially when it tries to override my manual decision

@piliponful backtracking is hard because it’s just a enhanced brute force so you could think smthng so dumb is too slow to solve the problem and sometimes it’s

Slax Linux genuinely seems like the correct solution for me -- It's good enough for reading books. It's small, has persistent storage by default, and is fast(obviously). Since it's Debian based, and persistent, I can install my favorite softwares. The red tint is from redshift.

@ludwigABAP Lagrange’s Formula is the most flexible one to use with sieve. Lucy Hedgehog’s algorithm uses that but extended it for sum p^k over a range [1, n], find pi(n) is just the case when k=0 gbroxey.github.io/blog/2023/04/0… It’s a sublinear algorithm that can be improved with fenwick trees

I like "Sheafification of G" on youtube quite a bit, his last video might be of interest: it's him trying to compute the largest possible prime number in 1 second max, with no precomputation, and he writes it all in llvm ir lots of cool things about sieves, and number theory, and some category theory ramlbings

@LukasHozda I just like the type hints and duck typing in python. Sadly, it’s really hard to impose a different language if the whole codebase is already in python. At work I don’t have many options besides: JS, Go and Java. I don’t like all three of them

Python doesnt get much hate because there's an understanding that it is used by people and for usecases accepting of imperfection Quick prototyping you expect is dogshit, research code you expect is dogshit, throwaway code that would have sucked more as a shell script...

Or consider how k8s forces a lack of granularity in scheduling & redundancy onto you. which requires a totally different and better language & associated solution & k8s forces way too many things that aren't required for highly available distributed computing onto you. Just bad.

@193993933j @OdioyHostilidad @1owroller “monas chinas” is a spanish term for female anime characters, but the literal translation is something like “chinese girls” Note that, “monas/os” means monkey but in this context just refer to some animated character. The adjective “chinas” is to say they’re not american cartoon
