btw korra doesn't outright kill a single villain in her show unless u count purifying unavaatu. which is the only time she didnt have a choice. she saved kuvira, amon and tarrlok killed themselves, and zaheer was imprisoned.

other than the very beginning, at what point does he not take on the responsibility of the avatar? the entire show is him accepting and embracing his role that he ran away from initially. he helps everyone he runs into with his friends and learns the elements. ur just saying shit

Actual hot take here. Korra is actually more thematically consistent as an Avatar than Aang. Aang spends most of his story trying to avoid being the Avatar and finds a way to win without fully embracing its harsher responsibilities. Korra does the opposite, she takes the role head-on, makes messy decisions, faces the consequences, and still keeps choosing to be the Avatar. That’s closer to what the role actually demands.

This entire movie was Mike and Bryan's attempt at getting back at ATLA fans for shitting on Korra. Notice that every single critique they had of Korra is present in this movie? The AS spamming, him getting played because he didnt listen(unalaq), got washed in the avatar state multiple times, almost destroyed the Avatar cycle. Has to constantly be saved. It's like they looked up every Reddit Korra slander and turned it into a movie, but with Aang. This movie is made out of pure spite.

there's a difference between understanding the mechanics of something and being a master. katara wasn't even strong enough to undo amons work because she didn't take bloodbending to the next level, instead she outlawed it without thinking of the medical applications.

“Katara learned a sub category of waterbending” The strongest form of bending ever seen in the entire verse AND it took her being bloodbended by Hama for a few moments to MASTER IT and then DEFEAT Hama WITHHHH bloodbending. Both Katara and Toph are equally INSANE

why would iroh need to open a school? this isn’t new. people outside the royal family have always been able to lightningbend. iroh only invented redirection. i’m not sure where this persistent idea that only the royal family knew how to do it came from but it was never true.

It makes sense cause it’s established Toph was training people and is mostly limited to trained professionals like the police or Suyin’s people. Unless Iroh randomly decided to open up a lightning bending school there’s no reason the discipline became widespread for it to be used

@starlingsteed we know kya had some interest in it, but overall her and bumi found it kinda boring lol which is fine bcuz kids are kids. i wonder if tenzin ever felt like that but it really would be selfless duty calling again to make sure it lives on.

@starlingsteed aangs deep trauma is unique and no one could ever truly understand it. when tenzin was born, he must've felt so deeply protective of him. i would argue the pressure aang had to make sure his culture would truly pass on, got magnified to unthinkable levels. +
