It’s totally fine. Jesus was against overly strict law and constantly rebuked the pharisees for being too strict. I follow Jesus, not man.
Liturgical vestments are of course not to be thrown in mud or disrespected, yet vestments are nothing compared to a living God, and how much reverence God should have.
Jesus is God, and He still would have totally done this when He was in human form.
That’s my take anyways. What do you think?

Is the action taken by this bishop considered inappropriate? This situation is inappropriate. Yes, the Bishop is wrong, and here’s why: It is not suitable for a Catholic Cleric to engage in sports/play of any kind while fully vested, as liturgical vestments like the chasuble and stole are sacred symbols set apart for divine worship, not for secular use. Canon Law 1171 emphasizes the need for reverence toward sacred objects, and wearing them during sports risks causing scandal. It diminishes the significance of acting in persona Christi and treats the holy as common. While a priest may wear a cassock or clerical attire during recreation, vestments should be removed after Mass before engaging in any physical activity the sacred belongs at the altar.
