I sometimes defend open source stuff that’s “vibe coded” because like why does it matter?
The common argument is something along the lines of “they don’t know what the code does. They don’t know the code quality.”
How many people who have written any code have been 100% satisfied with the code they wrote?
Stop demonizing technology.

Currently I use Arlo/UniFi cameras I think on the next house I will switch everything over to stay in the UniFi family. Arlo was nice because didn't want to hardwire a handful and they ran on batteries and eventually solar.

I’ll never stop taking victory laps about this. From the second remote work became a hot topic in 2020 I have been consistent on the view that it is impossible to believe that human beings are more productive at home.

Remote work probably is a real drag on productivity if so many companies are serious about making people return to office. If it cost nothing they’d be happy to offer it as a perk and reduce overhead. Obviously it’s awesome for workers

@LundukeJournal Don’t wait long. I live a version of that in my city with trying to keep pressure on city leaders. The vitriol from them and the people who benefit from them is heavy. And the supporters are afraid to speak out publicly.

A few days ago, you were soliciting questions. Now, I have one. The water you swim in now, is a necessity of your work. But it's rancid, and full of sinkholes. How do you not fatigue (or worse, sperg and crash out like I've seen lots of other creators do)? I can tolerate this stuff in small doses, once or twice a week. But you're doing it 9 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week. How?

Governor Evers and Wisconsin Democrats have badly miscalculated his 400 year property tax increase.
If those in Bay View are openly criticizing the increases then it shows how badly Evers has messed up.
Something, something all politics is local. Expect it to be one of the top issues in November.

@metal_maiden80 @wiz_political Their specific taxes are. But the overall city doesn’t necessarily collect more taxes in years between citywide revaluations just because this person’s assessment changed. It might. Might not.

@andreTRwi @wiz_political That's ridiculous. They pay more because someone says their house is worth $80K more than it was two years ago. Tax is calculated off the value of the property.
