My boyfriend and I are planning to buy a house together after dating for 3 years. He earns significantly more than I do, so he’d be contributing about 70% of the down payment. Because of that, he wants the house to be only in his name. He says it’s just “fair” based on the numbers, but we’d both be living there, splitting bills, and building a life together. I’ve been watching a lot of relationship content about equity vs equality, and it made me realize things don’t always have to be 50/50 but this feels like I’d have no security at all. He said if we ever broke up, he’d “do the right thing,” but that doesn’t really reassure me. My friends say don’t move in unless my name is on it. His friends apparently think I’m being entitled. Now I feel stuck between trusting him and protecting myself. Is this a red flag I’m trying too hard to rationalize?

@MontyBennett The problem is access to healthy food. Go into rural areas and see that there are only Dollar Generals within a 30-mile radius sometimes. hard to get fresh fruit and vegetables there.

We’re now at 22 states implementing some form of SNAP restrictions on items like soda, candy, and energy drinks. Taxpayer-funded benefits are starting to look less like 2-liter soda runs and more like healthy groceries that nourish people. Let’s get this across all 50 states!

@IAskedIt @MontyBennett We grew up getting kool-aid while the neighbors got Hi-C, my parents couldn’t afford Hi-C for 12 kids. In the end, we were all drinking sugar water. The government is not helping by allowing people to buy processed and sugary products-it’s hurting them.

In the end, those who couldn’t itemize now get a bigger refund (from increased standard deduction), those who used to itemize pay more taxes.
