@newwabisabi @Adeva_Eira @TheGOPisBad @PopCrave Thanks for the lesson I guess but completely unrelated. We can change cars to guns or knives or almost anything. My point is that something being dangerous alone is not enough reason to cripple our liberties.

@arcticfix @Adeva_Eira @TheGOPisBad @PopCrave Cars revolutionized transportation and it would be impossible to have jobs that require long commutes without them. Relying on bikes would severely limit job opportunities for anybody outside of large cities. Point being that comparing the two is silly

The UK has passed the Tobacco and Vapes Bill, banning anyone born after January 1, 2009 from ever purchasing tobacco products.

@d51169109 @BooBooKeys88 @MilligramsTv @SaycheeseDGTL It's always easy to agree with governments banning or censoring things you don't personally like. The problem is it never stops there. Corroded freedom affects everyone, you just don't know it yet

UK officially approves lifetime smoking ban for anyone born after 2008. Anyone born on or after 1 January 2009 will never be legally allowed to buy tobacco in their lifetime.

@Adeva_Eira @TheGOPisBad @PopCrave Also not true and you're missing the point. If it was easy, then it wouldn't be classified as an epidemic and it wouldn't need to be banned in the first place. Also most people start young due to peer pressure, which not so easy to avoid for impressionable kids

@Adeva_Eira @TheGOPisBad @PopCrave That's not even 100% true. Smoking addiction is not easy to stop, and drunk or malicious drivers willingly get into cars and kill people very often.

@zhondoro @TRIGGERHAPPYV1 I agree it should've stopped lol, but you're naive if you think human drivers would handle it any better. From the video and even the comments section, human drivers would still go in and try their luck with the smoke

@arcticfix @TRIGGERHAPPYV1 Just put yourself in this self-driving car seat and tell me it did better than what you would have done.

Tesla is now being called the safest vehicle on the road after the self driving car avoided a crash with clouds of smoke and dust blocking visibility

@brylon109__ @RealKorraSato @JesusGa24681643 @kareemdsg1 @NAKAMAAAA112 It's a leap tbh. That's like saying Shanks is stronger than WB and the marines because they didn't want to fight him. We have no clue how Shanks stopped Kaido. The Marines called it a minor clash and even they weren't sure. I find it hard to believe they really fought

@apple_coded @wokler_ @Draren_Thiralas @esjesjesj Ehh, in Japan, if you end up in court, it's because there is no doubt you are guilty. It's more a formality than an actual trial, and Japanese prisons are often a lot more strict as well. You often can't even talk without permission and they don't tell you when you'll be executed

@wokler_ @Draren_Thiralas @esjesjesj I don't disagree, but it's a tradeoff. The US arrests and charges significantly more people than Japan, so courts would never be able to handle it if everyone was forced to go to trial, and the entire judicial system would collapse

@arcticfix @Draren_Thiralas @esjesjesj Even if that's true its not a good thing. A lot of people who take plea deals only do it because they feel like they have no other choice.

@Draren_Thiralas @wokler_ @esjesjesj This is true. Also in Japan, cases still go to trial, even if the defendant confesses or pleads guilty. If countries like the US also counted pleas as convictions, they would also have 99% conviction rate

@wokler_ @esjesjesj Iirc, Japan has a 99% conviction rate because prosecutors over there like to settle cases they aren't completely sure they'll win. The 99% conviction rate is calculated based on cases that get to court, not arrests.

@RealKorraSato @JesusGa24681643 @kareemdsg1 @NAKAMAAAA112 Oh I did, and I know exactly what you're referencing, but again, Shanks never beat Kaido. He stopped Kaido from going to marineford, but it's never explained how, and neither were injured when we saw them again
