@samlakig in another couple years, AI will be able to iteratively improve the quality of the proofs until everything we have is from the book (erdos-ly)

tough problem, ai generated proofs are very messy and trying to extract tasteful/generally useful tactics/meta-tactics is quite hard. motivating humans to do the hard work is also tough since their reward(academic credit mostly) for writing useful libraries is significantly diminished.

After the apparently amazing announcement by @mathematics_inc on the formalization of a major recent Fields-medal winning theorem, i had no idea how pissed the math-formalization community is. Very worrying discussions by some of the leaders/founders of Lean's mathlib. cc @ChrSzegedy

Oh man, I might be forced into being a literacy test truther Grok immediately pushing the hard sell that ALL THIRTY questions are “deliberately ambiguous, trick, or imprecisely worded” And yet somehow the one guy who replied with his answers to my earlier tweet had exactly the same answers to the first ten as I did! What is this, some kind of telepathic miracle? If I and someone else can take the full test independently and have the same answers to all thirty questions (remains to be investigated) then I’m sorry but this entire sacred chapter of the civil rights era is made-up

I was worried my audience would get dumber as I got larger, but it looks like yall have been fairly constant. Actually, this may be a sign my account has stagnated.

@SkepticalAlpaca Ty for reminding me to do my test on the newer image gen models for Katy Freeway. It looks like they are finally able to implement my vision.

@afshawnl >modern turbine blades run hotter than their own melting point I know this is the typical wording, but it's misleading at best. they run surrounded by gas hotter than their melting point, but they do not run hotter than their own melting point

If you thought that was cool, modern turbine blades run hotter than their own melting point. Most of them use single crystal superalloys with ceramic coatings and internal cooling channels that let the gas path exceed 1,700°C while the metal stays below 1,050°C which has a melting point of roughly 1,300°C.

TIL on Jet Engines like the GE90, the casing physically squeezes or expands (thermally, via bleed air) to maintain blade tip clearances of ~0.5mm at full thrust. They are literally using thermal expansion to adjust blade tip clearance for efficiency 😆

I had a dream I met @Michael_Druggan irl and it turned out he was an amateur horologist and he showed me to his workshop and I watched him delicately install the hands on their pivots with his enormously oversized arms

I love when people get freaked out by supplements because of animal studies that, if done in humans, would be like injecting some guy with a gallon of creatine.

this for example predicts and explains why a M3 interval is less dissonant in root position, while the m3 interval is less dissonant inverted. try it out

real world nonlinearities break musical octave equivalence, the voicings of your chords really do matter, power chords are secretly major triads with a doubled root an octave below vvvvv this and more on the oatstack vvvvv
