@Davejones0305 @fionagoddarduk That's how capitalism works. The recent Employer NI increase has had more impact on job losses than automation has had over the last two decades.

Im a mum of 6 and im currently on benefits, (hopefully not for much longer and should hopefully be back on my feet shortly) but I just wanted to give my opinion on the budget. The 2 child benefit cap should NOT be removed. I get financial support for 2 of my 6 kids and I can tell you now none of my kids go without food, gas or electric. They all have nice clothes and school trips paid. All get christmas and birthday presents. They do not go without. Yes its not always easy, but its not supposed to be because its not supposed to be long term and you should be better off in work than on benefits. The 2 child cap does not keep children in poverty. Irresponsible spending from parents do. Giving more money wont change that. It will also take away insentive for people to get back into work because now large families will be worse off with 2 parents working than they would being out of work on benefits. Support should of gone to working families on the lowest wage, not out of work families. We are going to see a huge rise in unemployment off of the back of this.

@antisemitism Sadly she represents the modern day Jewish collaborators of the Holocaust era. They turned on "their people" too and didn't survive the Nazis either but lived just a smidgeon longer. Their voice was purged from history and forgotten forever as will Margolyes be. Very sad.

The fact that she was born Jewish does not give her a license to use her immense platform to spread anti-Jewish venom. Saying that Hitler converted the Jews into Nazis is flat-out racist bilge and she must be shunned by the showbiz world that has fawned and bowed until now. That includes stripping her of her BAFTA. We will be writing to the Honours Forfeiture Committee to ask that her OBE be removed.

These scenes are disgraceful. We have written to @KingsCollegeLon following last week’s appalling incident where a speaking event was disrupted by a group of students chanting “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free” as part of a barrage of intimidation tactics targeting guest speaker Faezeh Alavi @SFaeze_Alavi and the organiser of the event. Security was forced to escort Ms Alavi out of the lecture theatre and the event itself swiftly and abruptly terminated. Students then continued their abuse and disruption outside the lecture theatre and throughout the corridors of the building. The University must take immediate action. Failing to do so risks undermining its responsibility to create a safe and inclusive environment.

Vittorio has left this world today 😢 He was a unique individual. Full of passion, curiosity, knowledge, wisdom and sense of humor. “Buongiorno Eveybody!” he would start every conference talk. I am only grateful to him. Auth0 is the result of his influence and passion for identity 🙏 I am very sad but also relieved that I was able to tell him how much I loved and admired him the last few months while he was sick. Thank you Vitto, you will be missed but your legacy will be always remembered ✨

22 July 1942 | A transport of 931 Jews deported by the Germans from #Westerbork in the occupied Netherlands arrived at #Auschwitz. After the arrival selection made by SS doctors 479 men & 297 women were registered in the camp as prisoners. The remaining 155 people were murdered in a gas chamber. Among them were Roza Anholt-Delden and her daughter Christina.

23 July 1934 | A Belgian Jewish boy, Renè Reinhold, was born in Antwerp. In September 1943 he was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber.

3 July 1927 | Dutch Jewish girl, Martha Veterman, was born in Zwolle. She was deported to #Auschwitz from #Westerbork in October 1942. She did not survive.

18 June 1934 | A Hungarian Jewish girl, Sarika Kertesz, was born. In 1944 she was deported to #Auschwitz and murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.
