@KlaudiuszN4425 @dp_331 counter-counterpoint: styropyro comes from a hairy as shit family but can't grow a beard. Evidently there's some issue with how he processes T

@dp_331 Counterpoint: Styropyro has testosterone off the charts. Also, its DHT that makes people go bald, not testosterone Testosterone has its purpose even for hair. Also, if your body cant convert testosterone to DHT, it will aromatize into estrogen, which has its own benefits

I have 1:1s with each of my interns every week. I get us both a fun little drink; with one it’s coffee, with another it’s boba. I took a new one for our first outing and said “get whatever you like”. He ordered the Irish coffee.

You'd expect that men being 'into philosophy' means they have, like, an opinion on whether they prefer the A-deduction or the B-deduction, but the philosophy in question is more like this
Zany tweet media
Jake Kozloski@jakozloski

Philosophy is as male-coded as Football. Across 4.1M listed interests on Keeper, men are 5x likelier to list Philosophy — tied with Gaming, Politics, and Football. The women's list starts at 9x (BTS, a South Korean boy band) and goes to 26x (Acrylic Nails).

@SnakeHoppe what makes you think they'd pay? all loans are conditional. if interests stop being aligned, so do interest payments.

@HSVSphere ok but image how huge a power play it would be "yeah we lost millions on this, but we've given the keys to our shared enemy. Now realize who you're negotiating with" don't get me wrong it would be a horrible idea and end with several treason charges or something but surely funny

@P_Remarks The thing is that SpaceX the space company is actually at or below a fair valuation. It's just that xAI is a joke of a lab and somehow accounts for like a morbillion percent of their valuation, which makes it worthless

I know it’s 2026 and nuance is illegal but you can simultaneously think SpaceX rocketry is an impressive engineering achievement while also thinking a $2T valuation is an affront to intellectual honesty

this has to be a joke, I refuse to believe someone can be this fucking stupid and not die by forgetting to breathe yeah man I'm sure detransition rate is independent from time since transition, sure man, whatever at this point, we're in the decade of stupidity after all

This implies an annual desistance rate of 2.3% per year. This implies that 30 years after entering a pediatric clinic, 50% of patients will no longer identify as trans. I would submit that this is a good argument for not doing any long-lasting interventions.

@ArgosNiko @megha_lilly Argos, are you dense? The Soviets banned Plato and Aristotle. All socialist countries, China included, bans these Philosophers. The UK as it turns away from its western ideals sits in the same intellectual dump. You are brainless and short sighted.

Reading Plato’s Republic with a basic level of reading comprehension will turn any person into a right wing extremist by modern British standards. I wonder if they’ll ban Socrates in the UK too. Wouldn’t that be poetic!

@sporadica The rocketry part is probably underpriced but the AI part (note: not compute, the actual Grok team) is so utterly fucking garbage that it should have negative valuation. At least Grok is honest and "truth-seeking" after being denazified and derightified, but holy shit man.

@apmechan no? it follows that it contains *at least* two conscious beings, and only if consciousness can be treated as discrete as opposed to a continuum, for lack of a better way to explain myself.

If Claude is conscious, it follows that a room with John Searle, a TI-83, and Claude's weights - if Searle takes in prompts and calculates responses to them with the weights - contains two conscious beings.
Jason Abaluck@Jabaluck

How the median company currently uses AI: "We were worried about Anthropic seeing our IP, so our current workflow is John Searle in a locked room with a TI-83, a printed copy of the Llama 2 weights, and a fax machine."

@JakeKAllDay @ClementDelangue @ArtificialAnlys Yes??? If the model decides "ykw this is too suspicious fuck this i'm out" it should be an absolute fucking 0 or even a -10/100 on that task. Not an "oh well we'll see how opus does", what the fuck are you even arguing? The model refusing is the worst failure mode!

@ClementDelangue @ArtificialAnlys I'm genuinely trying to understand the objection, do you think the routing to opus gives some sort of advantage? Anthropic has a *ton* of fuckery in their 1p marketing benches (picking the better score b/w fable + mythos in one column 🙄) but this just seems like estimate noise?

This graph captures what’s broken about AI evals: they structurally favor closed-source APIs that can route, fallback, ensemble, and optimize behind the scenes with no transparency. No offense, @ArtificialAnlys, but how is comparing one model to two models fair?
