Landing Mauricio Pochettino to lead the #USMNT was a triumph. Rehiring the coach who oversaw the most humiliating World Cup loss in program history would be indefensible. @FOXSoccer: foxsports.com/stories/soccer…

@AozDemt @maxstephhh @alanshearer Calling me a dumbass without even understanding my point. What does that make you?
I never said the foul call in the Egypt game was wrong.
I just said that comparing it to the Odegaard foul was stupid. My ask was - provide a better comparison if you’re trying to make a point.
English

@bkrambles @maxstephhh @alanshearer lol.. as per rules how far can the foul occur!??
Dumbass.. it’s supposed to be in the current build up play.. for Egypt is was under 10 seconds of the same play..
English

"VAR went too far back"
But the same has been happening in @alanshearer's own country's league but there's only a hue and cry when it's Argentina 👏🏻
English

@AyoOyalowo @maxstephhh @alanshearer Yes, this is a really good comparison. Not the arsenal v man united game.
My point is, if you’re comparing, pick the right game!
English

@Nyingaa @maxstephhh @alanshearer I’m saying that the two scenarios aren’t the same and shouldn’t be compared.
Check the South Africa v Nigeria incident - that’s a better example, but not from the PL.
English

@_brainiacFX @maxstephhh @alanshearer Yes, this is definitely a better comparison.
My point was not about whether Egypt’s claim was fair or not.
My comment was simply that the Odegaard foul and the Egypt foul cannot be compared.
English

@DeDeukans @GoatMo_ The dumbness in the logic astounds me.
So if an Egyptian fan really wanted to do something bad, they’d just have to wear an Argentina kit and they’d be let in? Beats the whole purpose of checks. 🤦♂️
Either check everyone the same or don’t - unless your goal is to discriminate
English

@GoatMo_ Can’t say they aren’t being logical about it and targeting the higher risk fans. How many Egyptian and Muslim terror incidents?

Cafu's words in 2023 blaming the Premier League for Brazil's lack of success 🇧🇷👀:
🗣️ "I am afraid the more we have Brazilians moving to the Premier League, the fewer chances for Brazil to win the World Cup.
Imagine being brainwashed by the media every week that you are the best in the world, meanwhile, you are not near the best.
I prefer La Liga because they have a high mentality to reach finals and win them. In La Liga, they don't have a mouth in front of TV cameras telling lies about Spanish players or hyping them to the world.
They speak football there, not myth."
(via the Sun in 2023)

@Kamanana64 @TheSportzine @King_Fut 1. Players cover their mouth when talking to teammates because otherwise the media will speculate and write about their conversation the next day. It’s ingrained into their system to cover their mouths.
2. & 3. Fair question, fifa probably needs to investigate.
English

1. why would you need to cover your mouth when you are talking to your teammate?
2. why would you be talking to a teammate while looking directly at the opponent and continue looking at the opponent even after you finish?
3. the Egyptian coaching member was obviously enraged by mac alllister, and even got more enraged when he covered his mouth and said what he said

@DailyAFC @ScoutTopcee 17 year old attacking midfielder will eventually become a 20 year old defending midfielder at my club 😅

Reported Arsenal target, 17 year old attacking midfielder Gilberto Mora. 🇲🇽 🌟

@AllAboutME_Show @ChiCityBrian Did anyone from Portugal call up FIFA a few days before their 1st game to change Ronaldo’s suspension?
While the Ronaldo decision was wrong, there’s no comparison between that & Balogun getting red mid WC and FIFA suspending it day before the game, because the president called
English

@ChiCityBrian Henry - “I’m talking about the World Cup, not Ronaldo”
Dawg, Alexi is talking about how Ronaldo should’ve been suspended at the start of the World Cup, but FIFA didn’t enforce it
English

@_Afcbanks They’ve signed him as the third choice keeper (for now). And for free.
He’s a keeper with experience who comes for free. His mistakes don’t matter because he won’t be on the pitch to make them!
English

@KylePagan_ We can win the wc even in 2030 (we’ll need all the luck) but if the goal is to become a soccer powerhouse, then it’ll take us 30 years.
We need to improve the grassroots level, restructure MLS as a pyramid, and in the meanwhile have our players play for the best European teams.
English

@Abtilibaan Not really. Salah’s touch wasn’t the best, and Marmoush was next to him so he decided to take it forward. If Salah had controlled it better, Marmoush wouldn’t have taken it from him. That said, it was a terrible pass - if he’d done it right, that was the game right there
English

@joe03454186 @EdKrassen They’ll celebrate anyway they want. If you don’t like their celebration, you can deport them.
They’re mocking our president, not our country. It makes no sense to talk about wars when our president literally faked his way out of serving - it’s insulting to those who did serve!
English

@EdKrassen These clowns should pay respect because their bitch ass army surrendered to Germany in 18 days in World War II and America had to give them their country back or they would be speaking German.
English

@FOXSports That was a foul - 100%, but should the VAR have overturned the goal that happened at the other end after several seconds? Terrible use of VAR.
English

@Footballtweet That was a foul - 100%, but should the VAR have overturned the goal that happened at the other end after several seconds? Terrible use of VAR.
English

@LiteralErrado @Ninoh_Pavard @PauloAnalistas But here’s the thing, in a good team, the attacker will make countless runs like this. Your mid doesn’t make the pass every time - they eventually make 1 or 2.
Portugal weren’t good enough as a team. Mids didn’t take charge, and Ronaldo didn’t do what he needed to do as a 9.
English

@LiteralErrado @Ninoh_Pavard @PauloAnalistas There’s no way that Neves can be a 100% sure that Ronaldo’s off. You have to make the pass, then find out.
And I agree the ball wasn’t easy to control, but he got the control spot on with his body, he could easily lobbed it over for Ronaldo.
