@AozDemt @maxstephhh @alanshearer Appreciate you saying sorry mate! My point wasn’t really about the foul. I was just trying to say that there’s still a small difference between the arsenal foul vs the Egypt foul. I don’t disagree about it being a foul.

"VAR went too far back" But the same has been happening in @alanshearer's own country's league but there's only a hue and cry when it's Argentina 👏🏻

Take a close look at the assistant referee on the touchline. He clearly witnessed Mohamed Salah being shoved from behind on two separate occasions, yet failed to alert the referee or intervene in any way. These incidents were in plain view and should not have been ignored.

🚨😳 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗗𝗘𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗘. This is how often each World Cup quarter-finalist has been shown a yellow card based on fouls committed: 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England: 🟨 1 card every 7 fouls. 🇲🇦 Morocco: 🟨 1 every 9.8 fouls. 🇧🇪 Belgium: 🟨 1 every 10 fouls. 🇨🇭 Switzerland: 🟨 1 every 11.5 fouls. 🇫🇷 France: 🟨 1 every 12.2 fouls. 🇳🇴 Norway: 🟨 1 every 13.6 fouls. 🇪🇸 Spain: 🟨 1 every 17.5 fouls. 🇦🇷 Argentina: 🟨 1 every 22 fouls. England are being booked once every seven fouls, while Argentina average just one yellow card every 22 fouls committed. Does this suggest different refereeing standards for the World Cup holders? 🤔

@osasuo @alanshearer Every single angle of that Salah contact SCREAMS no foul.. and yet you want to connect your agenda of belittling FIFA, and give into the troll and negative PR accounts who connect it to Argentina or Messi.. shame‼️

I wasn't able to watch this play from this angle in which Egypt was claiming a penalty. It's crystal clear that Mo Salah collides with the foot of Alvarez - probably with the intention of letting himself fall after losing the ball. NO FOUL.

@bkrambles @maxstephhh @alanshearer Sorry for the language.. however distance doesn’t matter, it’s the time frame.. if I recall correctly it’s 30 seconds in the build up play.. See below which happened in ‘22 WC qualifier.. the winning goal disqualified. Match draw.
Max Stéph@maxstephhh

"The VAR went back too far" Meanwhile, In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Argentina vs Paraguay. Messi's goal was taken away from a foul that happened light years ago & the match ended 1-1 instead of 2-1. But now it's rigged using the same rule? Lmao

@AozDemt @maxstephhh @alanshearer Calling me a dumbass without even understanding my point. What does that make you? I never said the foul call in the Egypt game was wrong. I just said that comparing it to the Odegaard foul was stupid. My ask was - provide a better comparison if you’re trying to make a point.

@maxstephhh @alanshearer They’re just not the same. In the arsenal game, it was near the halfway line - one pass and - goal. In the Argentina game, it was one end of the pitch and so much happened. I’m an arsenal fan. I was fuming at the Odegaard foul call - but because I felt it was a soft foul.

JUST IN: 🇩🇰🇺🇸 Danish reporter slammed NATO General Secretary Mark Rutte live on camera: "You sit next to Donald Trump at moments when he talks about conquering Greenland, talks about lashing out at allies like Spain. Does this have any affect on your self-respect when you sit there and say nothing?"

🚨🇫🇷 Former French referee Tony Chapron has given his verdict on Egypt’s disallowed goal against Argentina: 🗣️ “There have been 1,000 fouls like that throughout this tournament that haven’t been called. Calling a foul on that incident goes against the spirit of this World Cup. VAR should never have intervened.”

I’ve got so many thoughts/questions about the Adeyemi deal, I genuinely don’t even know where to begin. First off, it really doesn’t make sense to go for ANOTHER attacker aside from Gordon and Julian. Unless… those links about Raphinha leaving weren’t, in fact, off the mark. The idea that a player like Adeyemi is coming to replace *Roony*, a €2m signing who literally never played, is beyond me. I just don’t buy it. Now, of course, maybe the club sees this as a great market opportunity given his contract expires next summer, but if so, It’d have to be *very* cheap. Don’t get me wrong, I like Karim as a player and I do believe he has upsides that bode really well for this squad, but the fit/timing leaves me with more questions than answers. Also… INVEST IN THE BACKLINE!!!!

🚨📲 Egyptian player Mustafa Zico took to Instagram to blast FIFA over the refereeing decisions in their game against Argentina. "You brought us all the way here just to cheat every other team? This tournament is fixed for your favorite and we all see it. God is sufficient for us. Keep running your 'favorite team' World Cup. Nobody cares anymore because we already know who wins. Shame on FIFA."
