@Grim_fifteen @AidanG_Baseball Other than like McGreevy and Liberatore, the other dudes who are in the rotation or fringe starters are mostly 27 and 28 ish with very little team control or commitment. May, Pallante, Leahy all are possible deadline trade candidates if they pitch well enough and have the value

This isn’t much of a surprise. The Cardinals were always going to give Pallante every opportunity to reestablish himself as a starter, and the Kyle Leahy experiment is something they’ll want to continue evaluating at the major league level. I fully expect to see guys like Dobbins and Fitts get opportunities to start throughout the season, with a chance to stick in the rotation if they perform well. Mathews could be another name to watch for a spot start at some point, depending on how things unfold.

He’s only 27 so maybe it’s for the future of this rotation, maybe to bolster trade value🤷🏻‍♂️ that’s my guess at least
