Predictable reaction. And feels more like gatekeeping than logic. In the 80s, 64 teams out of ~280 made the tournament, about 23%. Today it’s 68 out of 363, about 19%. Even at 76 teams, you’re still under 21%. That’s still more selective than the era everyone romanticizes. This isn’t dilution.

I do not believe that NiL is what will doom college sports. I do believe that unlimited transferring could be a MAJOR problem tho. That's the real problem. Fans are not interested in this type of roster turnover. It will weigh on the industry. I also reject the "this generation of kids" thing. Every older generation in the history of humanity has said that about those who come after them.

NFL owners have approved a change to the scheduling policy clarifying that Friday games are no longer considered “short weeks.” Previously, teams were limited to two short-week games per season (typically Thursday games with less rest). That rule still applies—but now, Friday games (like Black Friday or Christmas this year) don’t count toward that limit. So a team can play two Thursday short-week games and still be scheduled for a standalone Friday game, giving TV partners like Amazon more flexibility.
