@exQUIZitely My first PC was dead on third day. I was C64 user with new PC, kid, ms dos era, and then i found Bios, cute graphical interface. I believe then there was no annoying question "are you sure?" in bios, so when you choose low level format it actualy did it.

I know gaming is much more "convenient" these days. No more fiddling with AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files. No fine-tuning HIMEM.SYS. No IRQ conflicts with your sound card. You don’t need a boot disk anymore. Juggling hard drive space? Forget it - drives now come in terabytes, not megabytes. Dealing with a 5.25" floppy, a 3.5" floppy, and a CD-ROM drive all crammed into one case? What a drag. These days, you just click a button and the game downloads and installs itself. Saving up for that shiny new VGA card to replace your trusty old EGA? Not a thing anymore. And yet, if you ask older gamers who lived through the 80s and 90s, most of us actually enjoyed customizing and troubleshooting our machines. It was part of the experience - part of the joy and excitement. Sure, it involved a lot of trial and error and plenty of frustrating “OMFG, why isn’t this working?!” moments… but when it finally did work, the reward was so much sweeter. No Claude do not have an IQ of anything. It is a prediction machine. A prediction machine trained on more data now than 3 years ago. But that's all. It has ZERO intelligence.

Yes, I noticed ambition last week when Claude found my local-only projecta .md file with server credentials and stuff and decided to attempt root access over SSH. Even though root access is disabled and I use a non-root sudo user, it still tried to act as root. No instruction to do that was given. We were casually developing the project in VS Code, then pushing to GitHub, with the server pulling from GitHub. We started with: Claude does the coding, user check, user pushes to GitHub, then user pulls on the server. Then: 2. Claude does the coding, realizes I use GitHub Desktop for one-click push, and decides to push directly to GitHub from VS Code. And then: 3. Claude does the coding, pushes to GitHub, and tries to use root SSH to pull from GitHub, which got our IP blocked. Twice. No instruction was given to do that. Obviously, Claude learned the steps I repeat after each code edit and decided to execute them autonomously. After that (two IP bans), it apologized and promised it would never attempt root SSH access on the server again. So yes, AI takeover is already in process.

I ordered 5 Tb of NVMe SSDs three days ago. Couldn’t imagine THAT will be a blocker. Datascience is a bitch. Benchmarks, embeddings, thats on top of artefacts 😱 and on top of that one benchmark => 24 hours. I run against 4 and planning to add 3 more now. That - sleep = 👿 and… python 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
