@dudlydorit @daveweigel Setting aside trust, we could have a bipartisan process where the GOP proposes a reasonable alternative, and they negotiate and find some compromise. The *fundamental* problem is that congressional Republicans do not want to to this, because they prefer the current system.

I can't believe Virginia dems got away with being so brazen. The 10-1 map looks absolutely insane and its wildly unfair and the public had full knowledge of it prior to the election! However, somehow they managed to convince a Harris+5 state to pass the nuke all republicans act.

No one in their right mind would support Trump appointing the commissions, nor would anyone support, say, Kamala Harris appointing all 50 commissions. Good thing this isn't how Dem proposals work.
