AI agents do not fail because they lack memory. They fail because their context does not evolve. We spent the past few months on this problem. Today Maximem Synap is live. - 90.2% on LongMemEval. - 15ms P50. - 10 frameworks on day one.

Awwww did someone take your hard work and use it to train a model to mimic your expertise without compensation
Mark Kretschmann@mark_k

Google has revealed that "commercially motivated" actors attempted to clone @GeminiApp by bombarding it with over 100,000 prompts. This "model extraction" attack aimed to steal the AI’s proprietary logic and reasoning capabilities, particularly in non-English languages, to train a cheaper, unauthorized copycat model. The attackers systematically mapped Gemini’s response patterns to create a synthetic dataset for fine-tuning smaller, open-source models. Google’s Threat Intelligence Group detected the coordinated activity and blocked it, labeling the incident a direct attempt at intellectual property theft. Beyond commercial cloning, Google’s report noted a rise in state-backed threats. Groups from Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea are increasingly using AI to refine phishing campaigns, perform reconnaissance, and assist in writing code for malware. Source: Ars Technica

I’ve always been a fan of physical stuff. Of vintage charm and nostalgia. Which is why typewriter has always been an artifact deeply etched in my memories. The last time I typed on it was with my grandfather, typing away his letters. Of course, I carry faint memories of that, but strong enough to get enticed by a typewriter anytime I see it in a thrift store. And then I realized how cool would it be to create a digital experience of a typewriter. There’s something about old letters and typewriters that made words feel more intentional. You paused before typing. You thought about what you wanted to say. The sound of the keys reminded you that this was real. Typeletter is my attempt to bring a bit of that back. A small, quiet space to write soulful notes, to yourself or to someone else, without distractions. Just a page, the rhythm of keys, and a sense of nostalgia that invites you to slow down. If you wanna feel the vibe, tune in to the ambience of a park, beach, jazz hall, or a rainy evening. And yes, time to write love notes to your loved ones (including yourself?) I built Typeletter so you can: - Write soulful notes in a quiet, distraction-free space - Type on a classic, vintage-style typewriter - Hear the soft rhythm of typewriter keys as you write - Choose ink colors: black, blue, red, sepia - Add gentle ambient sounds (rain, beach, jazz, park) - Mark your note with a seal or stamp, like old letters - Sign your note, if you want it to feel personal - Send a note by email, when it’s ready - Save your words as a simple image keepsake - Time Capsule: schedule a note to be delivered in the future Do give it a try and keep me posted. :) Built with so much love for old charm, soulful writing, and physical devices. 🧚🏼‍♂️ Try it: typeletter.aishashok.com (Best experienced on a desktop view)

@ravihanda @manujosephsan The poor don't kill the rich regularly in Western countries either. Or even in countries much poorer than India. It's because is killing is a rare thing to do for humans!

Why the poor don’t kill us? by @manujosephsan is a provocative collection of essays. I wish more tech bros read it. In it he argues that in India’s context the poor do not feel excluded from the nation the way the poor in rich countries might. The visible chaos, disorder and “ugliness” of everyday life make even the poorest feel that they belong to the same collective reality, rather than seeing themselves as sharply excluded. Politicians actively need poor voters. That alone changes psychology. The poor are not an ignored underclass; they are a decisive bloc. They are visited, addressed, promised things, sometimes literally paid attention to only during elections, but still included in the ritual of democracy. That inclusion matters more than policy outcomes. Rations, pensions, gas connections, loan waivers, cash transfers, local favors, waived fines, temporary jobs, or access to a neta or babu. None of these fix inequality. But each one creates a feeling of participation in the system. The poor do not feel the system is entirely hostile to them. Exams, quotas, schemes, slogans, and success stories keep alive the idea that escape is possible. Even when the odds are terrible, the presence of a pathway reduces rage. People tolerate injustice longer when they believe they might someday be the exception. Many livelihoods depend on political goodwill, informal arrangements, or bureaucratic discretion. Open revolt would destroy these fragile arrangements.

The amount of crap I get for putting out a hobby project for free is quite something. People treat this like a multi-million dollar business. Security researchers demanding a bounty. Heck, I can barely buy a Mac Mini from the Sponsors. It's supposed to inspire people. And I'm glad it does. And yes, most non-techies should not install this. It's not finished, I know about the sharp edges. Heck, it's not even 3 months old. And despite rumors otherwise, I sometimes sleep.

Fun fact. An ex-friend who is rabidly "anti woke", pro-Modi, pro-Trump, & who sent me this message is the only friend I know who committed multiple immigration frauds. Moonlighting at a gas station when on F1, falsifying resume for H1B etc.

Using Claude’s artifact to whip up a tarot game—loved bringing this up in less than an hour. We did a small wrap up game for our first Foyer Friends catchup, and it was fun to explore each other’s creative fortune using the tarot deck. Can’t wait to build more minis ✨

Okay so I've been using Windows Recall for a few days now, and I absolutely love it. It works so well, and it's better at finding most things than Windows Search! I don't remember the last time I was this impressed with a feature lol
