@JamesPearceLFC Really starting to get concerned with Wirtz. He should be in the first 11 just now

With apologies to the Scottish Greens - this should have been posted yesterday after @AlanJZycinski attended the manifesto launch & asked @Gillian_Mackay1 about US use of Prestwick, buffer zones at asylum hotels, slave trade reparations & if they’d take back Your Party defectors

@staylorish The reason why he can’t give an opinion is he is wedded to @scottishgreens & can’t piss them off

John Swinney’s inability to give a straight answer on the SNP’s position on new drilling for oil & gas, painfully exposed this morning by Nick Robinson on the Today Programme. (Part 1/2)

@DottyParker21 Don’t worry about me, thoroughly lightened up but can’t tell you how bored I get by male politicians talking about football. I have never had to stop a female politician doing it. Just saying!

Can I just say that under normal circumstances any programme fronted by seven men would not be a programme I would watch #bbcdn

@holyroodmandy Can’t help but wonder if you’d be first off the blocks howling sexism if an equivalent male figure made a similar remark when the 3 main parties at Holyrood were fronted by women

@JayMcKenna87 if you dont want to pay it hand your season ticket back someone will take, Anfield won’t be empty. the atmosphere most of the time is shit, stop gaslighting us pretending it’s a furnace of noise and energy. It’s a stadium that could badly be doing with some supporter turnover

Just after I did this, two Evertonians collared me as I was walking out - saying well in, good on us, they’d saw the Talksport interview etc The way I and others feel isn’t about who you support but valuing the supporters who make football what it is I only wish clubs got that
The Anfield Wrap@TheAnfieldWrap

"Our support is something that the club monetises, it's something it sells around the world - pictures of the Kop, the scarves, the flags...we provide that for you." "People are being clear: we're not giving you those visuals if you can't value us...we've had support from away team supporter groups as this is a wider issue." 🎥 TAW Midweek Extra

It’s interesting to see the clubs spin in their response to supporters plans to protest about ticket price increases For a start it doesn’t tell the full story, and they’ve obviously briefed lines that they haven’t put in the public domain themselves previously A 🧵….
Paul Gorst@ptgorst

"If you care about this issue, you need to be part of it." Story in full as @spiritofshankly organise protests at rise of ticket prices at #LFC. Understand the club respect right to demonstrate but are disappointed such action is viewed as the next step. liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football…

@ginadavidsonlbc Gina please link in with @staylorish who can tell you the questions to ask on this. However more broadly, @JohnSwinney clearly has complete contempt for devolution if he’s trying to make a reserved issue the central part of his campaign. He knows he can’t run on his record

John Swinney on the campaign trail in Leith this morning talking energy, petrol, prisons, visas and Kanye West 🧵 👇 He launched an ad van calling for UKG action on fuel duty. Asked why he’s making a reserved issue part of a Holyrood campaign

@lfcjonah @robbohuyton Very vague term though. Football is for what fans? There’s Liverpool fans that can’t get into anfield for love nor money and others that have been 100s of times & do nothing about moan.

@lfcjonah @robbohuyton Let’s all be honest the real reason season ticket holders are restless is turnstile issues (justifiable), crap on the pitch (justifiable) and the fact the club have made touting harder (not justifiable)

@Josh11813522 @robbohuyton a McDonald’s double cheese burger was 99p in 2010 they’re not now. what’s your point? I say again Liverpool posted a profit of £7M recently, it is not a club with massive profit margin, there’s no one robbing you

@dangerbeaware @robbohuyton Kop tickets in 1997 vs Spurs were £14, inflation would have that at £27 now, the vast majority now cost £44-£45 with some at £39 and a very small amount at £41.

@lfcjonah @robbohuyton They don’t make more than enough money though they turned a profit of £7M last year have posted a significant loss the season before. This argument of “what’s a few million £ to lfc” is nonsense and isn’t used against any other company or corporate entity

@dangerbeaware @robbohuyton If it’s allowed to happen now, it’ll happen again, and again, and again. The club make more than enough money and do not need to increase ticket prices end of. Football is for the fans.

@Josh11813522 @robbohuyton i cant really be bothered checking but my understanding is the rate of increase is 3-4% which isn’t far off the rate of inflation

@dangerbeaware @robbohuyton It isn’t in line with inflation though, it’s well above that. You can’t increase the price of something at more than double the rate of inflation because you can then use inflation to justify the cost of rising it further. It’s one or the other.
