Such a bummer knowing left wing transit advocacy groups are going to spend the next few decades campaigning against autonomously driven buses (which could drastically increase service hours) because they prioritize the demands of transit unions, not the riding public.
Joakim 🌹🇳🇴🇪🇺@joakial_

For the first time in Norwegian history, a bus will carry passengers in regular traffic without any human behind the wheel. The first pilot without a safety driver was tested Friday, and if all goes as planned, anyone can ride driverless buses starting in May.

OpenAI continues to lose market share in GenAI website traffic, while $GOOGL Gemini, and Claude are gaining: - ChatGPT 56.72% vs 77.43% 12 months ago - Gemini 25.46% vs 6% 12 months ago - Claude 6.02% vs 1.4% 12 months ago At this point in the race its all about distribution & the cost of serving these models.

@bfurnas @NYCMayor @NYC_DOT @NYCDDC One year after the Atlantic Avenue rezoning was approved, the DOT is still completing a traffic assessment and no improvements have been made yet. Thousands of new apartments are being built in the area, but that corridor still looks the same 🤷 @OsseChi @CMCrystalHudson

I hope for their sake @NYCMayor, @NYC_DOT and @NYCDDC prioritize capital project delivery reform so they’re not looking around during the re-elect wondering why all these lovely projects they announced in early days aren’t finished yet. nytimes.com/2026/04/13/nyr…

The energy in Budapest tonight is absolutely incredible. Unlike anything I’ve seen anywhere in the world. Every bridge, metro station and street is full of celebration. Literally the entire city.

Civilization was built by people like this, and there is a stunning lack of gratitude in our culture for their work. In this specific case, at least half of the apple varieties in Brown’s collection were considered “lost” until he personally tracked them down and saved them. He literally went on quests where he did things like, tracking a lost variety back to a stump of a long-ago-cut-down tree near an abandoned homestead in remote Appalachia, took cuttings from the green shoots coming out of the stump, brought them back and planted them. Absolute legend.
Undiscovered History@HistoryUnd

Tom Brown, a retired engineer, dedicated 25 years to preserving approximately 1,200 apple varieties from extinction.
