Nigeria did provide enabling policies, past cheap USD/forex access, and local raw materials that made these plants viable. That's accurate. The shorter end comes from Nigeria's own issues: poor roads/logistics, multiple taxes/levies, inflation, and distribution costs. Exports are priced competitively for global markets and forex earnings. It's structural domestic execution gaps, not the companies shortchanging us.

Dangote is selling fuel for cheaper to Togo than it is to Nigeria. Dangote cement is cheaper in Ghana than it is in Nigeria. Nigeria provided the cheap USD, raw materials and policies that made these businesses possible. Why are we getting the shorter end of the stick?

It’s not like the science guys like finance or accounting. They don’t do it because they want to It’s because they can do it. Every engineer would rather work in a tech/ O&G firm than an accounting firm. But ofc if they lose out on those opportunities to other engineering/science guys they’ll move to accounting/finance firms because they can. The finance guys can’t move into O&G beyond the Finance dept. And commercial guys are also top of the line You almost never see a top Exec without an MBA. My earlier comment was aimed more at the art guys.
