@safier @themishpacha @RebMeirSimcha Enjoyed greatly. Would have liked more on his relationship with the Rogatchover, but I’m not sure there’s enough primary material to cover that.

He had no yeshivah. Led no dynasty. Never merited descendants. But he left the world a Torah legacy that refused to die. Still studied. Still cited. Still untouchable. Rav Meir Simcha of Dvinsk — 100 years later. A real privilege to write this one. Check it out in @themishpacha!

@DBashIdeas Still astonishing to see the Rebbe start to sit, then stop when he saw R’ Krinsky getting a chair for the Rav. What a moment…

Please be nice to this woman who had the best of intentions…if you’re mean she might not sell that challah back after Pesach.

@FriedaVizel It was only recently that I learned that you had studied with him; I’ve been a fan of his for quite some time now, and I’m very glad to see this collaboration…

Today, on the erev of Passover, is the 66th yahrzeit of Rav Chaim Heller. In his memory, Prof. Aviad Hacohen and I have published a nearly 3,000-word profile in @MakorRishon on his deep friendship with Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, including remarkable previously unpublished letters in which The Rav urgently appealed for financial support on behalf of Rav Chaim Heller. An expanded 10,000-word English version (with full documentation) will appear today at *The Seforim Blog*. See Aviad Hacohen and Menachem Butler, “‘A Sefer Torah in Distress’,” *Makor Rishon, Pesach Supplement, no. 1495* (1 April 2026): 10-11, 16 (Hebrew), available here (academia.edu/165430597).

@FriedaVizel It was a lovely listen. We were nowhere near as strict, but my mother z"l was also an incredibly organized person who for years made it a point to finish Pesach prep with enough time to go out to the movies the night before.

Opinion: There are two possible values to debate: 1. Convince the interlocutor 2. Convince the audience If no one is willing to change their respective minds regardless of evidence and logic, not even to reverse positions but to adjust for complexity, then debate is pointless.

@Eli_Rubin I actually had a mail exchange (postal mail - look it up, kids!) with an Israeli Deep Springer in the early '90s. He noted that, while there wasn't any kosher food in the area, he *and the other Jewish student there* did fast on Yom Kippur; fascinating place...
