i just realized that the rust belt would be ground zero for this sort of thing because of 1. historically large catholic populations, 2. declining religiosity (hitting everywhere tbh), and 3. declining outright population

Inside the crumbling and most likely not-long-for-thois-world ruins of the Hoban Cold Storage building in Detroit, Michigan. Once a place that kept untold tons of vegetables and other perishables cold prior to transport by train, this place now sits decaying and empty.

Old laboratories inside an abandoned hospital in Chicago, Illinois. What sort of experiments or studies were done here is a mystery, but one can see people in white lab coats bustling around the place with beakers in hand...

The shell of the abandoned Fairmont Creamery in Detroit, Michigan. At some point, someone had attempted to convert this place into apartments, but that effort too seems to have been discontinued.

@BrenierLaura @JDabknee Every place of worship, regardless of the religion that claims it, can be beautiful to witness. I would love to see some of the mosques in the Middle East. Gorgeous architecture.
