@Jack446316 The difference in the press conferences is incredible. I went back and rewatched the ones where Europe lost and they had so much fun, even then. They’re a team of mates
Who’s the strokes gained leader in partying on Team Europe?
Tyrrell: “Sepp. Sepp will stay undefeated.”
Sepp: “I don't know, in Rome I was leaving for the airport and I still saw Tyrrell.”
Shane: “People will think it's me, but I'll be gone early.”
Justin: “Sepp, hands down.”
Rory: “Dark horse in the back right!”
Justin: (Looking incredulous) “I got a bit scared of myself after 2018.”
Rory: “Fitzy has to fill in his stat sheet from today” (laughter).
Their chemistry is incredible! 😂🇪🇺
@MattVincenziPGA Russell Henley plays on a Tour that follows the OWGR criteria and therefore gets points.
Jon Rahm plays on a circuit that chooses to not follow any of the OWGR criteria and therefore does not get points.
Pretty easy to understand. Hope this helps!
@BobSuraFans@NUCLRGOLF The whole point of captain's picks is to encourage mixing it up beyond the top 12. The Euros do this as much or more than the US does.
If you play well enough to finish top 20 you're fair game without catching the "old boys" label
@NUCLRGOLF Scottie's boy jumps the line. Old boys network still intact. FTR Burns putts it well and has some moxie and swagger to him although he hasn't exactly been a closer when the chips are down. Euros +150 seems like a steal right now...
🚨🇺🇸☎️ #BREAKING - Sources familiar tell NUCLR GOLF that Sam Burns has received the call from Captain Keegan Bradley to play for Team USA at Bethpage Black. Burns is ranked #16 in the U.S. team standings and is set to make his 2nd Ryder Cup appearance.
@jmtomsick@scratchgolfshow@RedHarrington44 Sergio is the only one that’s remotely apples to apples.
The others were liked by their teammates more than PR, and were much better players.
How many time does Patrick Reed need to beat Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton before ppl can comprehend he’s a better Ryder Cup choose than Justin Thomas and/or Jordan Speith.
I already feel like I don't understand the rules of golf.
And if Lowry doesn't get a penalty for his ball clearly moving on 11, then I *really* don't understand the rules of golf.
Unfortunately had to DQ myself from the tournament last night. I realized when inputting my stats on the way home that I signed a card stating I had a 3 on hole 14, when in fact I had a 4. I immediately called the Tour and reported the error, but as it was more than 15 minutes past my score being turned in, it resulted in a DQ. Although it would not have affected the results of the tournament, I’m disappointed in myself for not paying closer attention… And for letting my emotions get the best of me after a tough round. I will use this as fuel for my next event and hopefully turn this season around. Thank you to everyone for the kind messages ❤️
@Cackalacman@NUCLRGOLF@AdamSchupak Yeah Greiner is definitely one of the more direct caddies out there (and that’s not a knock on him).
I also think Colin is a lot softer than JT though. He’s going to have a very hard time finding someone as good as JJ that can also coddle him the way he likes lol
@freecoder_@NUCLRGOLF@AdamSchupak Got ya. That is really all I heard as well. He just seems like a straight forward dude. I knew JT was temporary but not sure their personalities would mesh either.
🚨⛳️🎡 JUST IN: Collin Morikawa has split with caddie Joe Greiner after less than 2 months of working together and the duo having made 5 of 5 cuts, per @AdamSchupak. Collin will have former college teammate KK Limbhasut on the bag at the Rocket Classic.
@Cackalacman@NUCLRGOLF@AdamSchupak All I’ve heard is what Homa originally said which is that it was done to preserve their friendship, and that he didn’t want Greiner to leave but respected his decision.
@Cackalacman@NUCLRGOLF@AdamSchupak Greiner’s the one that left Homa. And he was only filling in for JT’s injured caddie.
So if Colin fired him, he’d be the first to do so.
But yes, Colin/Greiner were never going to be a great personality match.
@KylePorterNS I filled out the PGA's engagement survey a year or two ago and "more context" is what I asked for repeatedly.
Seeing a swing + a zoomed-in ball in the sky + a ball landing on a zoomed-in unidentifiable grassy area is just... meh.
Drone tracer + down-the-line in PiP is awesome!
@Rudeboy737@NoLayingUp@KylePorterNS It deserves a ton of weight, don’t you think? There’s a reason it’s so rare, not only in golf, but in all sports. It creates an unusual dynamic in the locker room, and there’s no way you can fully devote your time/energy to both aspects — one or both are going to suffer.
@NoLayingUp@KylePorterNS Kyle for someone who cites data golf ad nauseum, you really seem to be twisted up into a pretzel on this one. It’s pretty clear he should be on the team regardless of today’s result. You guys are giving the playing-Captain thing a *ton* of weight.
Still a lot of time, but Keegan winning today would be fascinating given the relatively soft back third of the U.S. Ryder Cup team. Would start to get into “uh, I think he kinda has to be on the team” territory.
@hutch_golf@GolfloverUK Yep this is the obvious explanation.
He could have anticipated the question and prepped a more graceful response… but I get the frustration.
My guess… the reporter already knows he’s playing the Qi10 and also knows TM doesn’t want Rory answering questions about why he’s not playing the Qi35, so he’s putting Rory in a tough spot here and Rory gives a snarky answer.
Even if the reporter is clueless to this, it’s understandable Rory would be annoyed at the position he’s in, especially after the media reporting on the non-conforming driver issue.
Not to say Rory is totally blameless here or that he shouldn’t handle it better, but I can empathize with the situation he’s in.
What is up with Rory?! The way he answers these very reasonable questions, soft questions, not probing ones, is so poor!
He has become such a snark and comes across as a brat. Just give the answer politely he’s making it much bigger than it is.
No idea why he’s doing this!
@bblock1924@zagnut PGC is a total hack. I don't think Phil was trying to motivate Scottie and I don't think the tweet had an impact on Scottie's performance...
BUT I'd be very surprised if Scottie hadn't heard about the tweet through someone in his circle and/or the media. Not that it matters.
This could be the dumbest golf tweet of the year. We are only nearly midway through 2025, but this is a strong contender and will be hard to beat.
If he’s special needs please let me know and I’ll remove this.
