Is it just me or does anyone else see the look of fear in Albo's eyes? That shit-scared look when the security team are out of sight. Rampant Islamophobia. Nothing to fear.

@QBCCIntegrity Even if the Libs directed preferences to Labour ON wins a lot of seats. If they did try and direct preferences that way it will just drive ON further upwards. The genie of a third major party has escaped the bottle methinks.

@gorizan @homeconserv @PeterWallaceAU We all support the Iranian people so that's not a true statement. The problem is America is going ro destroy Iran and then do what they normally do and leave . It's the Iranians who always seem to suffer .

I just filled my car and paid $2.80 per litre for diesel. Happy to pay knowing it’s the price of obliterating the Iranian terrorist regime and freeing the people of Iran.

Fun fact: In 2020, Liberal MP Christian Porter introduced a bill which would result in mandatory minimum prison sentences for certain serious child sex offences. On 15 June 2020, Larissa Waters voted against the bill.
Larissa Waters@larissawaters

Victim-survivors of family, domestic and sexual violence must feel safe to seek support. Having their private conversations with 1800 RESPECT handed over to their perpetrators, does not provide that safety. It just adds to the trauma they’ve already experienced.

@OMGTheMess He doesn’t believe it. He knows we don’t believe it. We know he knows he doesn’t believe it. It is all a pantomime he is embracing to keep lying about the economic issues for a few more months.

The visa of Novak Djokovic was cancelled within 6 hours of him arriving in Australia because he didn't have a vaccine. The visa of this pervert, Bao Phuc Cao, is in the fourth day of "review" by the Immigration Minister with no guarantee he'll actually be deported. If One Nation were in charge, there wouldn't even be a review. Immigration officials would escort him from the courtroom straight to the airport on a one way flight the fuck out of Australia, never to return, and the judge would have to face a panel for the lenient sentence (as would all other judges who hand out excessively lenient sentences that puts the community at risk.)

Are European countries refusing naval service because they fear Muslim backlash? Or because they have degraded military capability? Or because they hate trump?

@Dr_Sassenach @scottjla @hughriminton @smh I do t think they see themselves as ‘lurching to the far right.’ I suspect many feel that Lib/Lab have lurched to the left and left these people staying in the centre. I also feel that for some it is about economics and not political leanings. Housing, wages, inflation protests

I think Kos is correct here. I also think it applies fairly equally to the Left as well.
Kos Samaras@KosSamaras

Hawkish on Monday, panicked on Friday. The same political class that mocked Albanese for not leaning hard enough into Trump’s attack on Iran was, days later, crying poor over the oil shock that attack helped unleash. It is yet another example of why establishment politics, especially on the conservative side, is facing an existential crisis. Every event, every shock, every national challenge is now treated first and foremost as a political weapon. Nothing is processed with consistency. Nothing is weighed up beyond the next attack line, the next outrage cycle, the next opportunity to land a blow. And that is exactly the problem. Within weeks, often days, the contradiction is exposed. Demand a more aggressive posture abroad, then recoil from the economic consequences at home. Talk strength when the cameras are on, then complain when households and businesses wear the cost. It is politics emptied of strategy, discipline and seriousness. Voters are not stupid. They can see that much of the old conservative political class no longer believes in anything beyond immediate advantage. That every crisis is simply content. Every conflict is an opportunity. Every consequence is someone else’s fault. This is why trust for them keeps collapsing. Not just because people are angry, but because they are watching political actors contradict themselves in real time, over and over again. A system that politicises everything eventually loses the authority to manage anything.
