America will not be lectured about civility by far right extremists in Congress. Particularly those who provide aid and comfort to hundreds of violent rioters who brutally beat police officers on January 6. There will be ample time to vigorously debate the issues of the day. Now is a time to unify.

Every morning, our Keepers walk out with the herd. Why? Because even though these orphans are starting to hear the call of the wild, they haven't entirely found their feet. A burst of antelope through the bush or unintentionally rousing some sleeping buffalo can give our big babies a fright – and when that happens, our Keepers are there to restore calm and order.
For the newest herd members – new arrivals like Toto, Natibu and Mwinzi – these walks build familiarity with a landscape that will one day be entirely their own. When that day comes, they'll no longer need our Keepers, though the bonds remain. Until then, our guardians in khaki continue to stand sentinel over the herd.
Ex-orphan Manda's recent visit goes to show that these walks are pivotal to a successful reintegration – and help ensure the orphans remember the path back home whenever they want: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/news/updates/m…

Spanish matador admits he can't sleep or eat after bull spears him right up the bum in excruciating arena goring
Morante de la Puebla, 46, was knocked down and gored by a 512kg bull named Clandestino during a fight at Seville's Maestranza arena on April 20.
The horn caused a 10cm wound that perforated the back wall of his rectum and partially damaged his anal sphincter muscles.
He needed more than two hours of complex surgery to clean the wound, repair the rectal wall and reconstruct the sphincter before being put on IV nutrition in hospital.
In a video from his bed the matador said "The truth is, I'm in a lot of pain" and admitted he's had "a pretty normal night of little sleep" with zero appetite.
He described it as "without a doubt, the most painful goring ever" and is now just hoping to get through it with patience.

Hace tres años, se vio a un orangután cargando a dos cachorros de tigre a través de la selva, y ahora finalmente han vuelto a ver a los tigres ya adultos, todavía caminando a su lado.
Los investigadores dicen que todo pudo haber comenzado tras descubrir a una tigresa madre muerta, con marcas de arañazos que sugerían que probablemente había sido atacada por otro tigre, posiblemente un macho. Poco después, en una cámara trampa, se vio a dos cachorros junto a un orangután en uno de los momentos de vida silvestre más extraños que los expertos habían intentado comprender. Después de eso, desaparecieron.
Durante años, nadie supo qué había pasado con ellos ni si los cachorros siquiera habían sobrevivido. Pero hoy, 22 de abril de 2026, el misterio dio otro giro cuando finalmente fueron vistos de nuevo.
